This weather is getting me down. Is it May or March?

Apparently the saints whose days fall on the 11-13th May, St. Mamertus, St. Pancras, and St. Servatius are known as the Ice Saints, because this period often sees a sudden cold snap. But next week looks better with a forecast of 23° for the 21st.

I needed the heating on this morning, it got warmer in the afternoon and is now cold again.

I haven’t put the central heating on again although it was tempting earlier, but I have been using my heated throw again!

Thank goodness for central heating is all I can say.

East Yorkshire. We didn't have any rain in April and several days were over 20C. We even reached 24C a couple of weeks ago. Very cold today though. People have started to joke that we have had our summer.

REKA Easter Sunday was April 12th that year and the whole weekend was beautiful weather. The two May bank holidays, as well as the rest of May, also gave us glorious weather. It was such a shame we were in lockdown and couldn't enjoy it with family and friends as we would have done otherwise.

It is really cold this evening.

I was just saying this earlier. May has been a decent month for years, this year is abysmal.

Just 6 years ago during lockdown we were out in the garden day in, day out.

I live in London and most days go out dressed for January whereas many youngsters are dressed for July.

Cold here in Yorkshire, sunny spells but the wind so cold. I know what OP means , your body needs time to gradually adjust, not 'All or nothing' !

It’s been really hot but today it’s really cold

It’s been very chilly here. The breeze is brisk and coming from a more northerly direction making it feel blooming cold 🥶.

Still it is only May, and that saying “Ne’er cast a clout ‘til May is out” still needs heeding, I think.

I agree, it’s the constant swing from reasonably warm to very cool that can affect our mood.

I’ve even known it to snow (briefly) in June before now, so keep those woollies near at hand 😅.

Aely, last night on the Oxford plain it was 2deg! cold and damp out there and a bitterly cold wind out of the sun today. Capricious May.

It's the swinging from really warm to really quite chilly from day to day that's the problem. Never know quite what level of warm clothing will be required.

I live on the east coast,it's sunny today but the wind is bitterly cold,people are out and about with big coats on,it's very changeable

It was above average with no rain in April so I don't see what the issue is.
