I am waiting on more tests following my private consult blush but a friend suggested trying Manuka Honey to help soothe digestive system, I researched and have ordered some from comvita, but it was expensive !
Does anyone else use it, and is it as good as they say?

I found that honey made my digestive system worse! But we are all different and it could work for you...

Hi, I have a couple of teaspoons of Manuka every day for it's properties, not for digestive issues though. It is so expensive now! I buy the ten+ strength.
The Comvita or Medi-Bee brand are the only ones I like the taste of but Rowse do a slightly cheaper, well did last time I looked, clearer Manuka.

Make sure you get the real stuff. Apparently there is more Manuka honey sold in this country than is produced in New Zealand!

It is delicious though especially on hot lots of buttered toast!

I use Colpermine tablets from Boots for my digestive system. They are pure peppermint and settle aching, grippy stomach pains. I have been checked out by doctor for IBS. They certainly work for me.

Thanks, I have bought Comvita as I know this is the real deal - I'd eat the bees if I thought is would make me feel better !

I use local un-processed honey for my hay fever, and that works. Soothing my temperamental digestion has been an additional benefit I've noticed. Perhaps it just needs to be un-processed?

Mint tea is another natural soother. I had Manuka on my porridge every day over the last winter. FIrst time in several years, I didn't get a cold. Maybe coincidence of course, but I've just bought myself a jar in preparation. It's lovely with lemon and hot water as well.

There is a lot of hype and a lot of people claiming it cures all ills. Which it is not. Best known for its use as a wound dressing - anti bacterial. Manuka belongs to the tea-tree family.
No reason why something that is anti-bacterial will be good for your digestive system.
It is very expensive if it is the certified high-manuka-pollen kind. This is because it is tricky to produce - lugging bee hives up mountains to where the manuka is flowering.
What is wrong with your digestive system - what symptoms do you have?
