It's best to wait for the results and try to ignore Dr Google, although I consult it at times! May be something easily treated and at least the GP took action. I don't think post menopause bleeding is that uncommon and there is usually a fairly easy solution.
Hope you get the answer soon because not knowing is far worse than knowing whatever the result.
