Somewhat disconcertingly, I've just discovered I need my replacement replacing after only 9 years. (I'm 62.) Has anyone advice on what to expect after this second op?

Hello Trichet,
I read that you had your operation in France! Is that correct? I am 49 years old and i need to revise my implant of not even 5 years unfortunately and I'm looking for a good revision specialists where did you go? I also love in France. Sincerely Lea

I am 49 years old and will have to revise my implant after 5 years only. Unfortunately the offset was increased by 1cm, the cup is to big and causing psoas tendinitis, plus the stem is crooked ( varus) therefore I have chronic trochantet bursitis because of that!. I am looking for a good revision specialist who does custom made implants. Any advice would really be appreciated. Thank so much. Lea

Tash - I think you were asking me (in your first post.)
I can't recommend anyone in particular. The surgeon who did mine (not revision) was very good but has now retired.
If you're coming from another country you might have to pay, it's very expensive.
Also all the post op. care I mentioned earlier has now changed, I think. As has the operation itself.
You're very young for such an operation - what was your problem?
