Apologies if you have covered this before. Does anyone else feel dreadful in the lead up to full moon? I always feel tired, irritable, anxious and generally unwell, also am convinced we will end up bankrupt!

I wonder if the effect of the moon on people depends upon the time of day they were born? That is just a thought, no real evidence of, but I do think that the time of day people are born sometimes influences their temperament. It is a theory I have about my friends' children, and how they have developed.

I would want to see the results of a scientifically run experiment before I was convinced. There are lots of anecdotal reports about this effect though.

I must stop myself being such a misery guts by pouring cold water over every one else's imaginations by an insistance on reality all the time.
Our imagination is much more fun than real life.

I guess this depends upon your own version of reality and that your opinion of your reality may be very different from someone elses or other studies.

I quite often sleep even worse than normal (which isn't very good at the best of times!) around the full moon :-/

PRINTMISS I don't know about the time of day affecting your temperament, but I do know that I feel happier at this time of day, around the time of day I was born. 5 am.

ruby I think the fact is that we are all complex human beings, but it is interesting to talk about what affects different people different ways.

I work in the field of mental health and occasionally feel that what is at work .

Spoke to my DH about this thread - he used to be a prison officer. He said it was widely recognised that inmates could get 'lively' at the time of a full moon.

My son has MH difficulties - I have never come across any comment on this before in the ten + years he has needed treatment. It seems more than just an old wives tale and might be helpful to take into consideration.
