Embarrassing but am I only one with problem.

I had never heard of vaginal atrophy till I went to my Lady Doctor with a problem of erm , part of my fanny disappearing or shrinking I.e.labia, I thought it was a serious problem but she assured me it was a common problem that happens after the menopause when oestrogen levels drop,I am now on oestrogen pessaries. which help with dryness but my "bits"haven't grown back , I don't suppose they will now at nearly 70'!!
It seems being a women ain't easy from the age of 13 when average periods start to going through the change and all the discomfort that brings, hmm

Ive read this thread with much amusement as its not often happened to me, but I do have the ptoblems of my knickers working their way downwards so if I dont hitch them up they would fall off, its due to my overlarge belly and the knickers roll down over the bulge. Ive tried wearing low level pants and thats ok but cold in the winter. I do wear none in the summer if wearing a skirt but find that I get thrush if I wear none under jeans.

Im a non knicker wearer. Hate the things! Only wear a bra in public, if I could get away with not doing that either I would gives me indigestion.

Sounds to me like this thread is 'uncovering' () a big secret - lots of older women are knickerless! I'm surprised we haven't been outed by the Daily Mail!

I can't remember the last time I wore a skirt, but I do have a lovely summer skirt I keep thinking about wearing. I've been mulling over the fact that I don't have any underskirts these days, but maybe I should forget about wearing anything at all under it!

And belie your name wilma? That won't do. As for underskirts, petticoats, half slips, whatever, I haven't worn one for yonks. I don't have many skirts but the few I have seem to come with a lining. Otherwise they seem to be ok anyway. As for knickers, I wouldn't go without. I find them really comfortable and they've always been part of daily dressing.

I always wear knickers - I would rather have the normal bodily secretions land on cheapo knickers than on some expensive garment!

I have the same problem ethel, knickers roll under fat tummy and slip down my thighs. I tend to wear trousers a lot for that very reason but last week it was warm and I wore a skirt, I was climbing the stairs and my knickers not only rolled down but slid down my legs and reached my ankles before I got to the bathroom. Bring back Victoriana bloomers that you can tie round your waist

I could never, ever go commando! If you wear a skirt of dress,what if you fall, or the wind blows the skirt, revealing your....minge/backside in all its glory? NOT a pretty sight - in my case at any rate! I'd feel rather...vulnerable, so say the least.
Then there's the hygiene aspect: I second Luckygirl's observations about bodily secretions - and anyway how do you keep the TenaLady in place??

And going commando wearing trousers.....just NO.

Bellanonna I couldn't do it. I must stay true to my name. All my skirts used to be lined, but I gave them to the charity shop (most were parts of work suits). This skirt isn't lined, but it is quite full and I don't want to be doing a Marilyn Monroe without a slip underneath! I just might have a cotton underskirt in a case in the loft though, so I will get DH up the ladder.

Those of you who find their knickers rolling down, have you tried Sloggi Maxi? I would be surprised if they don't stay put for you.

Stanlaw, hello , re .your post regarding buying Canestan, just go to your local chemist and ask for Fluconazole,, same thing as Canestan, same ingredient, just not paying for the brand name , so about a quarter of the price, or doesn't need to be bought online,

harrigran you just need different knickers that fit. Good high waisted ones that contain a little elastane.

I also can't abide the feeling of tight elastic at my waist, big knickers that fit well are the answer. Ignore what the size label says.
