I have started to feel lightheaded when I get up from a chair or have to walk swiftly. I think I am jaywalking but do not know why. I am 73. Is this some dietary deficiency, a problem signalling worse or just old age?

Is your blood pressure OK? Worth getting it checked if you're not sure.

Could also be an ear infection causing Vertigo, get it checked out by your GP.

I have pain in the top of my spine which is probably cervical spondylitis. This (according to Dr. Internet) can cause dizziness. I booked with my personal Doc. to-day and he can see me on the 25th Nov.. I know I must check for blood pressure. I was just wondering if anyone out there had this problem.

Crikey that's a heck of a wait I'd want to check it sooner than 6wks.

Don't wait for your 'personal doc'. Take first available appointment!

25th Nov! - and what happens if one of these giddy spells results in you falling and fracturing something in the meantime? Book to see whoever - there are always slots available in most surgeries if you take whoever comes.

Please get to the surgery quickly. A very dear friend with similar symptoms is now very badly injured and facing months of rehabilitation after a dizzy spell at the top of her stairs caused her to fall,to the bottom. This isn't something to ignore.

As everyone has said, you need to get checked sooner than that, if you can't get an appointment with a Doctor, can you get an appointment with the practise nurse. If not, go along to your local walk in center.

As others have said take any doctor who is available, they should all give or send you for some tests i.e. Blood pressure, a back /neck X-ray, as it sounds as if you are guessing you may have spondylitis and it's not a diagnosis, any kind of pressure on the cord ( moved disc etc) will cause symptoms as well as pain

Good luck don't wait 6 weeks

I think I will get an app. next week. I am a shocker for self-diagnosis going in fear and dread of doctors and hospitals.

My surgery has appointments for emergencies which can be booked in on that day. You need to be seen- you cannot wait until the 25th November, ring up on Monday for the first available appointment.
