You seem to be doing just fine!!
(sometimes I think that vitamins give me aches and pains but DD said it is all in my mind!!)

I would just Keep On Dancing Dancer66!

My "Take more water with it" was not a flippant comment, few of us drink enough water and it would improve our health if we did (including me)

Yes, the fish oil capsules are great for joints, I also take vitamin D and a multi vitamin tablet as well.Your GP should do regular hypertension checks and blood tests ( mine does.)

Not too sure about increasing appetite DAncer but I take them for their anti inflammatory benefits. I usually buy them from Holland & Barrett but wait until they're on offer in their penny sale.

I'm 70, don't take any medications or multivitamins and apart from stiff joints which I exercise regularly, I'm fit and well.
I'd rather spend my money on going out to lunch with friends. thlwink

I have some osteoarthritis and have been doing daily cod liver oil capsule and glucosamine for the past 12 years. May not make any difference but I can report that I am probably more mobile in my hip joints than I was when I was working. But this could equally be due to retirement reducing stress by miles, now daily walk with the dog, weekly Pilates session and general enjoyment of life! Dare not stop the supplements just in case, but at 67 would regard myself as very healthy, carrying a little too much weight ((wish I could lose a stone). Have not been near the doctor, except for annual flu jab, for a couple of years and intend to keep it that way for a long time yet.

Eat well, not too much, exercise a bit every day preferably in the fresh air and enjoy life. Seems to work so far.

Thanks for the replies and the reassurance.

Linsco56,

As a skinny wee kid I was on cod-liver oil in an attempt to 'build' me up. Can't stand the smell of it to this day. Might try those capsules though. Is it true that they're good for the joints, and give you an apatite?

Look forward to anything else you folks have to offer.

I don't like fish very much so take an Omega 3 capsule every morning. My husband has arthritis so also takes one and some turmeric and he thinks one or both of them has reduced the pain.

My optician recommended taking Vitamin C as I have cataracts.

Don't worry, enjoy it while you can smile
My friend is 78 and worries that she's not on any medication, while her poor twin sister has had cancer twice.
My husband, 73, takes several vitamins + that supplement for your joints. (can't remember the name.)

I think if you feel fit and healthy and are eating a balanced diet you probably wouldn't need any supplements. Having said that, I take a cod liver oil capsule every day except for the days when I eat oily fish.
If I feel a cold virus starting I usually take extra vitamin C but thats all.

I‘m looking for your help and advice. I’m 66 in January. Health good apart from a few aches and pains. Not on any meds or multivits, nothing. My youngest sister seems to be quite surprised by this. I see my doc on average about twice a year. Is there something I should be taking that I’m not aware of.
