Im 65 and fairly fit, I swim and look after my horse I'm not overweight and apart from H.R.T. on no medication.
I have always fastened and unfastened my bra at the back but over the last few months I find my arms are no longer so flexible and really quite painful to move in certain directions.
I have a feeling that my doctor will put it down to age and arthritis but can I improve it?
Will exercises help ,is there anything I could take?
This getting older is a pain!!

Hopefully it isn't polymialgia ( i think that is the correct spelling) my MIL suffers with this and when it is really bad she cant even brush her hair bless her. She has to take low dose steroids every day which reduces the inflammation, but of course this is not good for her bones so she has to take calcium medication as well to protect her bones. Polymialgia can be diagnosed by a blood test.

Try Tai chi - it is excellent and many local authorities support classes.

Also get checked for osteoporosis.

Good luck!

Jenn you are at 65 a youngster. Well, in comparison to my age which we won't go into.
Have you ever considered taking alternative medicines for the annoying things that appear and spoil our lives as we age. ? I am very anti traditional medicine in view of and from experience that by taking one traditional item prescribed you usually need to take another to counteract the side effects from the first one and so on.
Two years ago I discovered a book that referred to twelve tissue salts, usually obtained online or health shops, which were minerals that both human and, yes, also animal bodies contain. When we suffer from the various ailments that blight our lives it is because our bodies are lacking in certain minerals.I have osteo arthritis diagnosed in my fifties which is incurable and which crippled my dear mother. What I have taken on recommendation from this book has enabled me to get a good nights sleep, free from pain with every movement and ready to take on my tasks the next day. Many practioners laugh at these products but many friends ask me how at my age I get about so well.I do not tell them what I believe to be the reason as some would no doubt say it was rubbish. However true or not I do believe the answer is well and truly in tissue salts.
