Confined to bed!

Prompt action by the doctor at last. I hope you will take it easy and get better soon.

Not really star the results were back on the 29th November and only brought to light because I asked for them yesterday. That's 10 days I could have been being treated.

That is not good, you could have been well on the way to recovery by now. Take care of yourself rubylady

Hope the antibiotics kick in their power soon, rubylady and you start to feel better. A few days' rest in bed reading good books, listening to the radio and watching TV will be salutary.

When my great aunt had to have bed rest but was beginning to feel well enough, she used to "hold court" in her bedroom and "receive" friends for chats. She would dress in purple( nightie/ dressing gown/ shawl or knitted bedjacket---it went well with her white hair, she said) and, when she had enough of chatting, would dismiss her friends with a regal hand gesture, closing her eyes.

Try it when you are feeling better, but not yet well enough to get up!

I must be ill, even my DS has told me to rest up! I can't wait now to see him on Wednesday. Getting "mum twitchy" after 3 months of him being away. And he is counting the days to being home too.

Take care Ruby. Those chest pains aren't to be ignored. A few years ago my cough and chest pains were joined by high temperature that wouldn't come down and then coughing up very nasty stuff. Pneumonia had set in because I hadn't liked to bother the GP. I was in hospital for 5 days and it took months to feel back to strength again.

Plenty of rest and warmth. And don't ignore any further signs! Hope you feel better soon and enjoy having your DS back for a little while.

Ruby poor you, but fingers crossed by Wednesday you will be sooo much better to welcome your DS home and to hear all of his exciting news. Stay warm and cosy [cake]

Reminds me of when I had pleurisy in the 70s. I'd been staggering in to work every day with an awful pain in my chest while taking the antibiotics a doctor at the Chest Clinic had given me. When I went to see my GP she said "Right, your taking the antibiotics and resting at home" I told her I was still going to work as no one had told me not to. She nearly fell on the floor and quickly wrote me a certificate!

I had pleurisy in the 70s following the flu, I lost three stones and could not look after the children properly and DH had to go to work. I used to put toys on the bedroom floor and let him play there so that I could stay in bed.
