new brain surgery

It does look amazing, the advances in medical science seem to be leaping by bounds lately.

It looks brilliant - but I guess by the time it is fully available it will be too late for my OH with his PD.

cath9 you too are a walking, talking testament to the wonders of brain surgery, of the times (1970s). Amazing. How tough that must have been.

Reading the op's title I thought quite sadly I could do with a new brain. The old one seems to have filled up.

Fantastic medical advance and great news
Sadly, It has come too late for my lovely papa who had PD from his early 40s. The procedure will not be available for another year as the man we saw undergoing it was in one of the trials.
Wonderful that it may alleviate MS and other linked neurological conditions.

I agree it was fantastic and I hope that this technique can be extended to zapping tumours eventually.

This is fantastic news. It is early days but I do hope it will prove to be beneficial for Parkinson's, for example.

It's marvellous news and gives so much hope for those who will hopefully be given the surgery.

My brother in law is seeing his consultant next February and is hoping to have a conversation that might result in him taking advantage of this procedure. Fingers crossed.
