Well, since his Lordship has left, I have lost one and a half stone in weight. For the first time in my life food isn't a "go to cure all". I only eat now when I'm really hungry and can go ages without realising I have not ate for a while. Then when I do eat I have what I want, but usually don't finish it all, although I do eat healthily more now, I can't stand feeling like I've ate something greasy or stodgy. The doctors are talking surgery so to be a bit lighter would aid the operation and recovery so a couple more stones to go yet until I am happy to have it done. I might get down to having only one chin by then! ??‍♀️

Well done to you!!! My diet aid was the fact that I have had little control over just about anything over the last twelve months but at least I could control what my hand put in my mouth!!! Lols xx

I lost weight slowly last year thru Slimming World which is a very healthy plan. In the past I yo yo ed continually but I stuck to this and am at a healthy BMI. This was because my husband was diagnosed diabetic and this plan was recommended, and because my daughter is getting married and I don't want to be fat mother of bride. I really like the consultant, the plan, and have made lots of friends. Now I'm at target I pop in free every so often , buy some chocolate snack bars and the odd really good recipe book. I lost two stone last year and am four and a half stone less than my worst weight. It's a way of life really and so far I'm managing to stay around target.

Well done I have just started trying to lose weight (lost 5.5 lbs last week) so I know it's hard. I' m sure you feel better having lost such a lot already.

Ruby well done . I agree that slimming clubs make you obsess about food . I lost the most weight when I got a new job and was on my feet all the time coupled with just eating when very hungry- eventually I stopped being hungry so could eat only for nutritional reasons . I loved being a small size 10 , my clothes looked so much better . Now 20 years later I am overweight again but started cutting down this week in the hope that by summer I will be slim(ish) . I really hate being bigger and don`t feel like myself at all more like an old frump !! I don`t think I will achieve a size 10 but a tight 12 would be great .

Well done Ruby
A new year. A new you. smile

I have been promising to start healthy eating since Jan 1st!

You have spurned me on.
Also the No Snack February is a great idea (sorry can't remember GNer who suggested it as on previous page)

How about keeping GN up to date with your progress.

Well done Ruby.

Another Slimming World fan here. I've lost a stone and a half in 15 weeks, but still have a way to go to get to target. As well as the discipline of being weighed regularly, I enjoy the meetings, and the support of the other members of the group and have picked up some good tips from them. I've tried loads of 'healthy eating plans' in the past but, so far, this seems to be the best one for me.

If you want to improve your will power when dieting or to improve your diet why not try the new free app. developed by a team of psychologists at Exeter University ? It is fun, quick and it works wonder with some people. If it works for you, you will eat 200 calories less per day (on average) simply by retraining your brain !

only available to work on Android at the moment. Let us know if you have tried it and what you think. I like it !

Right, anyone who is interested, a new thread is starting - my new lifestyle progress. It is not just weight loss based but healthier lifestyle. We will start with No Snack February, only 28 days to do that one. So, I'll start the thread off, post my current weight and please, come and join me, obviously weight does not have to be disclosed. Let's do this and end the year fitter and healthier. Love to all X
