Steve died on Monday morning of oesophageal cancer. He was candid about his cancer and treatment, he was refreshing o the personal and emotional side of cancer. His remit was to bring it all out into the open and TELL people what is going on.
Some of you may have been following Steve on R4. Each Monday evening on PM, he gave an update on his condition and how he was dealing with it.
It was one of the most moving series of talks I have heard. Eddie Mair was a very sympathetic, without being mawkish, interviewer too.
Sadly missed, very brave and above all candid. Thank you Steve
