That's good news, sounds like mine, Polly.
It was a simple procedure, and TG didn't return.

I've seen the consultant today. He says it's not cancerous but has potential to become a melanoma. For that reason he want to remove it. I won't have to wait longer than 31 days, so all good. Thank you NHS.

polly they do seem to get you in quick but that really is nothing to worry about

Thank you Mrs Jones. I'm very glad that everything turned out well for you. I'm feeling a lot less worried today.

Polly - I had a mole removed from my face in June last year and I had the hospital appointment just 3 weeks after I had seen the G.P. (NHS). I was concerned of course but it turned out not to be anything sinister and I hope all goes well for you.

Thank you Tricia. I'm glad things are ok now for you.

In the absence of any UK replies, my experience was similar in France. I had a small mole on my arm, which seemed to be spreading. My GP took a cutting, sent it off and the result came back within a fortnight. Pre-cancerous.
I had to go to a specialist hospital to have it cut out, local anaesthetic.
TG I haven't had a recurrence.

I've just had two photographed at the hospital and I've had a letter already asking me to see a consultant.

Has anyone else been seen this quickly? Should I be worried?
