Magnet therapy bracelets

Yes Sparkle I think it needs to be on or near the affected part of the body.

The NHS do magnet therapy, I had it done (too soon) after a broken bone and muscle damage and had to ask them to stop, it was painful to nerve endings, so yes, it does do something.
I have a magnetic necklace which I wear if neck and shoulder muscles ache, and it does help.You need to buy from a reputable source though.

I have got Fibromyalgia and find that magnetic plasters (plasters with a small magnet) stuck on the point of pain do work .... but then I bought a magnetic bracelet which did nothing. I think if the magnet is applied directly to the painful part, as in a knee wrap or wrist wrap, it will work, but just generally wearing a bracelet is not specific enough.

It is a placebo nothing more. But if it works for you fair do's. Can anyone provide a scientific possibility for this improvement?
Placebos are known to be effective I am begining to believe that with some pain the mind can help overcome it. "Positive thinking, distraction maybe, but don't waste lots of money.

Check the results of randomised controlled trials and save your money.

We got talked into a Magnetix bracelet. DH wore it for six months and it had no effect whatsoever. I tried it so as not to waste it. Ditto.

However, I did used to wear a strap around my knee which had a magnet in it and that did help. But it may have been the strap rather than the magnet, I don't know.

my late father in law used magnet treatments for his knee problems and found they really helped ,he also had a mattress topper with magnets in it ,he used them before and after his knee joint replacement op along with Arnica Gel from a company called SBC ,My mother in law uses a magnet wrap for her spondylitis in between her acupuncture treatments and shes remarkably fit foor mid eighties lilypollen you could try Actipatch on your dog ,although its made for humman use it gets fab reviews for pet use too,its electro mmagnetic and available at most chemists

Thanks for the observations. I was also thinking of a collar for our dog who has weakness in hind leg (yes Iam64, he talks) I am open to alternative therapies and in the past have had success with Tissue salts. Will report back if/when I get a bracelet.

Whadya mean they don't talk? I have two talking dogs and our previous dog wrote to the children when they were at university. We have proof as they kept all his letters

Did the horse really say that ? sorry Iam64 but I do think people can see what they want to see I had a friend who swore she could heal animals and know exactly what they 'were saying to her' but honest they could have been 'saying anything' it was all in her head and imagination IMO I didn't want to tell her they don't really talk bless her

Fairies may well fly BlueBelle, what do we know. I bought a magnet bangle and my aches do seem to have improved but like others, I suspect they were due to give me a break anyway.
The only caveat I'd add is that friends who use magnet collars for their elderly dogs all report improvements in mobility and dogs seeming to "feel" better. Same with horses, though I can't recollect how they fit the magnets on to the horse.

It's not opinions you want, it's evidence. You'll be lucky - IMO ( not evidence) it's either the placebo effect or the knee might have got better anyway. But they do no harm, so give it a try
