Hi, had a fall earlier this week, and managed to fracture the 5th metertarsal. Anyone else done the same? How long did it take to heal? Already fed up!

Hi did it years ago, I reckon at least8 weeks but I can still feel an ache now and again

At least six weeks but it will get less painful sooner than that.

Yep - agree 6 weeks approx. Bad luck

Thank you.?

This is something I do with monotonous regularity. Time is the only healer and that takes a minimum of six weeks.

Bad luck - hope it will be better soon!

I did this a few years ago.
The nurse in A&E put me in plaster from toe to knee.
I went back the next day for a review, saw a consultant who I told how unhappy I felt and he took it off saying it was for my protection and it would heal in the same time without it.
I would say the same as others 6/8 weeks before I could get proper shoes on and felt comfortable.

I too have stress fractures on a regular basis. I now have Freiberg's disease in my foot. I don't even notice myself doing it until I feel that excruciating pain. You just have to be patient (not me) and let it take it's time healing.
