Help on P.E.G or similar stoma feeding

So grateful for support in this.
Brother-in law well settled now but weary after the move from hospital to home.
Getting used to the cleaning of the tube and the pump for the food.
Site looks a little red at the moment, but the tube has not been in for long, so I guess it will settle.
I will see how he is tomorrow.

Please do not worry, once his wife gets the hang of it life does get a lot easier. Both my youngest children (19 and 12) are peg and jpeg fed and this way of feeding is a life saver for me. Fortunately we have not got a cancer diagnosis which must be difficult to deal with but good luck.

You brother in law will come home with everything he needs, his ‘food’ will come in bottles and come with a special pump. A special nurse is available to ring or may be available to come and show you how to do things. It is daunting at first but after a couple days it will be so much easier. It may be he is allowed to eat a little as well, in which case it’s a little of what he fancies! If you would to pm me please do.

The local district nurse will be able to pop in and advise if you need it. You can access them via your surgery. They will simply treat him as a temporary resident.
