Erm, bit of a clock up on the medication front!

Evening all, and sending every good wish.

I'm on Seebri, as part of the regime to manage my COPD. It's a capsule that you put in a little gadget that punctures it, then you inhale it.

This evening, while chatting to Mr P (well, to be totally honest, I was chatting, Mr P was sort of nodding, going "um" and the occasional "yes", I suppose I should have taken the opportunity to ask for something outrageous smile, like an exotic holiday, rampant sex, blush or a bit of a bloody move on with the decorating angry)

But, as ever, I digress.

I swallowed the damn thing! shock and even worse, washed it down with a sip wink of Cava! I just got it confuddled with the other thing I take at 6pm (when the "bongs" go on Radio 4) which is also a capsule, and is meant to be swallowed.

Still alive...............

Whoops! Hope you have checked the leaflet to find out what you should do if anything.

Luckygirl Fri 13-Jul-18 20:30:47

Blimey! - your bowel will be breathing well! grin

Alima Fri 13-Jul-18 20:35:40

Don’t panic, done the same and lived to tell the tale!

SueDonim Fri 13-Jul-18 20:37:53

No one stand downwind of Phoenix for the next 24hrs! grin

My ds once gave his wife two Imodium instead of two paracetamol for her headache. Funnily enough, they worked and the headache went away!

Oopsadaisy53 Fri 13-Jul-18 20:41:40

That sounds like something I would do!

Although DH took 2 Nytol instead of 2 Paracetomol and phoned me up saying that he still has his headache and was very tired.

Told him he should wear his blasted spectacles.

shysal as a long term user, I throw away the guidance notes when opening a new packblush, however, I have googled and it would seem that I should be ok!

As to the other posts, I'll have you know that I do not, ever break wind, and if by some freak occurrence I did, it would be totally silent and smell of whichever fragrant flowers were in season grin

lemongrove Fri 13-Jul-18 21:16:01

Yeah, right! grin

Now you wish you hadn’t eaten beans on toast for lunch.

SueDonim Fri 13-Jul-18 21:22:40

grin

I've also remembered the time I took my dh's 'water' tablet instead of my own thyroxine. I had a long morning in the loo after that. grin

MissAdventure Fri 13-Jul-18 21:25:35

When I was a smoker, I rolled my own, and delicately took a filter tip, popped it into my mouth, and washed it down.. blush

I once left my husband for the afternoon and came back to find he had helped himself to a Tramadol for his headache. When I checked I found he had actually taken one of his chemo capsules - also a two coloured one, but different colours and much bigger! I decided one on it's own probably wouldn't hurt and he's still here several years later!

NfkDumpling Fri 13-Jul-18 21:35:16

I heard on the radio the other day that there are two sorts of wind breaking. The smelly and the non- smelly. The non-smelly is good for you and increases with age!

phoenix Fri 13-Jul-18 21:48:49

Nfk does that also apply to cats? Oliver Sprout likes to come up and sit on the desk in the home office and "help" me with emails etc after he's had his brekkers. He has recently been rather prone to wind confused

The burping is not a problem, but his farts are really rank!

Silent of course, so unfortunately no early warning system in place.......

MissAdventure Fri 13-Jul-18 21:49:53

grin

NfkDumpling Fri 13-Jul-18 22:14:15

Ah, that’s the thing - apparently older persons (and pets) fart rather a lot. Quietly. And none smellily. So Master Sprout may be emitting CO2 more than you realise.

Perhaps a window near your desk should be left open?

Marydoll Fri 13-Jul-18 22:18:55

Phoenix, I did exactly the same thing! I went to school, told my colleague that if anything happened to me, she had to phone an ambulance.?. I had to stop her phoning one right away.
My biggest " clock" up was when I injected myself with my son's out of date Epipen. ??

Elrel Fri 13-Jul-18 22:23:10

Making me feel better. I was wanting to tell someone what I'd done and DC would worry about my capabilities!
I felt terrible for 2 days this week than noticed I'd twice taken 2 of one tablet and none of another two mornings running. I take 6 different ones in the mornings and normally check carefully but I'd been in a ruash both days ...
Must try harder!

annep Fri 13-Jul-18 22:28:16

Nfkdumpling I'm so glad to hear that n/s breaking wind is good for you. A plus side to this awful problem. So undignified getting older. sad

phoenix Fri 13-Jul-18 22:32:40

The window was open, unfortunately Oliver Sprouts bottom wasn't pointed in that direction...........I'm convinced it tainted my coffee..................it definitely proved that my nasal passages aren't blocked blush

Auntieflo Fri 13-Jul-18 22:34:15

Glad to hear the club is alive and going strong. smile

annep Fri 13-Jul-18 22:37:07

I've never taken wrong pills but I did once put olive oil ear drops in my eyes. The unfortunate thing is it was on the morning of my first appointment at a clinic called Care of Older Persons. I indignantly voiced my opinion on this poor choice of name whilst having to explain that I couldnt see properly because of what I'd done. so funny lol.

phoenix Fri 13-Jul-18 23:02:22

Ahem, you may have noticed a typo in the OP, probably the result of wrongly administered medication. (Phoenix wanders off, whistling in a nonchalant way)

MissAdventure Fri 13-Jul-18 23:03:49

Oh! I thought you just didn't want to write 'cock' in the title, Phoenix

phoenix Fri 13-Jul-18 23:05:06

And anyone who says "I don't know the tune to "in a nonchalant way, how does it go?" will be made to sit in a bath of cold custard and listen to every recorded interview with Donald Trump since his arrival in the UK. On a loop.

phoenix Fri 13-Jul-18 23:06:21

No, MissAdventure I have no aversion to "cock".
