Just been watching him on our local news (he’s a local MP as well as a Deputy Leader of Labour Party).

He’s lost a grear deal of weight and doesn’t even look like the same man. He looks years younger and has reversed his type 2 diabetes.

Inspirational. Well done that man!

a big of a digression, but I read somewhere that the NHS is going to prescribe shakes and soups to people to try to reverse their type 2 diabetes.

Apparently trials have been very successful.

Perhaps Tom was on the trial.

Oh dear, Freudian slip - bit not big

Nope he did it by eating less carbs, especially sugar, and cutting out processed food.

OldMeg Wed 12-Sept-18 19:01:30

He’s lost 7 stone.

I didn’t recognise him at first, had to google that he was the same person. Amazing transformation.

And Alima that photo doesn’t do him justice. On Central TV just now he looking fit and tanned too.

I know OM. Quite a tasty geezer. (Who’d have thought it!)

I heard him on Radio 4 today. Seven stone loss in a year is fantastic. It spurred me on to losing a bit less than that.

Alima grin

Low carb is how he did it, along with many savvy T2 diabetics.
But I'm biased, being a big fan of low carb eating.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 13-Sept-18 15:05:27

Sugar is a carb, some people do not realise this. You find sugar in practically every processed food and ready meal on the market.

Cook from fresh, and move more it's the only way.

I think that's a step too far Alima!! grin

Why, when I have a jar of honey every day do I not put on weight?

GrannyGravy13 Thu 13-Sept-18 16:23:45

Anniebach, I can only dream of honey at the moment, I put on 9lb in the 8 weeks my leg was in the cast, 4 weeks since it has been off and just getting "back to normal". Trying desperately to lose those flipping pounds!!!

The painkillers have aggravated an existing stomach problem so eating fruit or some salad products are out. But hey ho I shall persevere and hopefully get down to my Pre-injury weight.

JessM Thu 13-Sept-18 16:35:13

A whole jar Anniebach? In a day? Every day?

Alima Thu 13-Sept-18 16:36:47

I did say quite kittylester! ( No accounting for taste. Some find the Poldark chap tasty!)

kittylester Thu 13-Sept-18 17:11:31

I'll have Poldark, you can have Tom Watson then!!! Seems fair!!

Alima Thu 13-Sept-18 17:45:37

Please, take Poldark, he’s yours. I don’t want Tom. Wrong party. Added to which DH might take umbrage.

Anniebach Thu 13-Sept-18 18:32:57

Yes Jess, every day. Love it.

petra Thu 13-Sept-18 19:37:53

7stone!! That's not far off my whole body weight.

Jalima1108 Thu 13-Sept-18 19:40:54

If I lost 7 stone I would be an extremely skinny Minnie, so that makes me feel a lot better; two stone would be nice. Perhaps I should eat more honey Anniebach

Anniebach Thu 13-Sept-18 19:47:00

Try it Jalima, I am still size 8 trying to be size 12

Jalima1108 Thu 13-Sept-18 19:48:18

hmm I do have honey on yogurt for breakfast - but one small spoonful is more than enough calories for me!!
I'm trying to be a size 12 as well. smile

Ilovecheese Thu 13-Sept-18 19:49:39

I wonder what happened with his skin.
