Maggie many have not experienced trauma but have anxiety, depression, there are people who have experienced trauma and do not have these problems. Please accept your
mental health problem is no different to mine, your battleing no easier , you struggles are as difficult as all here x

God bless you Annie, you are always so understanding. I know you're in North Wales and you mention being in the mountains. I love mountains but live in flat Hertfordshire! Are you in Snowdonia?

BlueSky Thu 09-May-19 17:43:05

Maggie like you I haven't suffered major tragedies like others on here and like you I even feel guilty to feel as I do. I've had anxiety as long as I can remember (as well as OCD )only there was no name then, and occasionally depression too. But after reading your stories I feel a cheat for being on here.

Nonnie Thu 09-May-19 17:45:37

Maggie I don't think we should compare the different reasons for our illness, we wouldn't compare if one of us had a broken arm and another a broken leg. We are where we are and all arrived here by different routes. I remember when I was in hospital one other patient thought it was some sort of competition and shouted that my problem was not as bad as hers. I walked quietly out but still remember it well. I feel for you all, even though I don't know all the circumstances, I know how the illness feels.

MaggieTulliver Thu 09-May-19 17:48:16

BlueSky, listen to Annie. Interestingly my major thing is anxiety but I have OCD too and it all makes me feel very low and depression follows. You aren't a cheat and I know how you feel x

MaggieTulliver Thu 09-May-19 17:48:58

Nonnie, thank you x

Anniebach Thu 09-May-19 17:59:34

Maggie I am in Mid Wales, we have the Brecon Beacons, The Black Mountains and a few more , it’s less rugged than North Wales, suppose a brief description is mountains, lakes, rivers and sheep ?

And just to show off, I have climbed Snowdon , not recently ?

Anniebach Thu 09-May-19 18:05:00

BlueSky lets change it around , I have had agoraphobia for two years, you have had anxiety as long as you can remember, we both have anxiety and OCD and this is why we are posting , no cheats here, you must not think any other way x

BlueSky Thu 09-May-19 18:05:16

Thank you Maggie, Nonnie and Annie thanks

Joce345 Thu 09-May-19 18:28:36

Maggie my fear never seems to leave me... we don’t choose to be this way I would give anything not to feel like I do.

Dawn22 Thu 09-May-19 21:17:18

Joce
Remember what you fear are your thoughts only.
I promise you that your thoughts cannot harm you.
Very best from Dawnthanks

Joce345 Thu 09-May-19 21:36:30

That’s so true Dawn I do try to remember that.. thank you..

I am feeling so bad tonight it’s unusual for me, this is when I am normally at my best so to speak errrr !!

Anniebach Thu 09-May-19 21:43:02

Joce if you want I will stay in this thread for a while

Dawn22 Thu 09-May-19 21:46:04

Joce
Just be completely compassionate with yourself and remind yourself what a marvellous person you are living with these tribulations of the mind. You will be ok as l will be too.
Thinking of you. Dawn x

MaggieTulliver Thu 09-May-19 21:52:42

The Brecons are beautiful Annie and I climbed Snowdon once too smile Joce, the fear is all in our minds. It's been with me nearly all day, bar a few moments when I was with a dear friend. Try and tell yourself that it's not real, hard I know. (I have echoed Dawn's wise words).

I'm catching up with Game of Thrones, it's distracted me, nothing like dragons and fantastic landscapes to take your mind off things for a while. I hope refreshing sleep comes to you all. I will think of mountains, lakes, rivers and sheep. All I can see out of my windows is houses but I do have a beautiful abbey at the end of my road and a lovely park for my morning walk. Nite nite.

Anniebach Thu 09-May-19 21:59:06

Distraction is good Maggie, I play Killer Sudoku, cross stitch and family research

Joce345 Thu 09-May-19 22:21:38

Good night all hope we all sleep well ?

Anniebach Thu 09-May-19 22:26:01

Anniebach Thu 09-May-19 22:32:39

You would love it here, if you don’t mind climbing hills ?

Nonnie Fri 10-May-19 10:49:23

Good morning all. Hope you had a good night. Just want to say I think I am feeling a little better today. Actually planning on going to the garden centre for some things we sort of vaguely want rather than need.

Always trying to think positively but don't always succeed.

Anniebach Fri 10-May-19 13:20:16

Enjoy the day nonnie , we can’t suceed at everything every day , no one can ,

Anniebach Fri 10-May-19 13:32:51

Hello all x

I have therapy today and am going to tell my therapist I no longer want Fred, gulp

Nonnie Fri 10-May-19 13:53:52

Good luck with that Annie. Hope it is the right decision.

Been to garden centre and found a better solution than I was looking for so bought it. Couldn't get big enough lawn seed or topsoil so then went to B & Q. Home now and feeling exhausted but just a little bit please I did it.

Have a good weekend all.

Anniebach Fri 10-May-19 14:05:42

That’s great nonnie , not that your exhausted but that you
are a little bit please
