Hi all x

We have spoken of acceptance, thinking about it I remembered read Clair Weekes book I read early 70’s after I was in hospital with PND.

I downloaded the book today, she wrote of the importance of
acceptance, this was in the 60’s.

Any thoughts ?

Oh nanny that is awful about your great nephew. Children should not feel that bad. Hope your niece is feeling better. P reaps the cat wants to be released back into the wild. Hope your wounds heal soon.

SalsaQueen Tue 06-Aug-19 19:00:37

nanny2507 That's awful about your great nephew. Is he being bullied at school? Someone needs to help the poor lad with counselling or something.

What a shame about the cat. My own Mr Cooper was feral, until I caught him 8 years ago,, took him off to be neutered and them kept him (it took him a while to settle as he'd never lived in a house before). He bit me when I first got him, and my arm was badly swollen the next day. I needed a week of antibiotics and a Tetanus jab

Thank you, SalsaQueen. I'd not encountered that bit of biographical history. When I searched for the phrase, "black dog gang", on Google, all of the results pertained to a novel! thanks

I have had terrible couple of weeks. 12 yr old great nephew tried to hang himself...niece taken to hospital with sepsis incredibly poorly was in for 10 days but shes home now thank goodness. this morning took cat to the vet..no chip. and the reason it has a large piece of ear missing is because he/she s a feral that has been caught, neutered, and released back to where it was found (which i,m angry about poor thing) . They think its on the older side but sadly its so spiteful they couldnt get close enough to see f its a boy or girl . I myself got bitten 9 times and i,m in an incredible amount of pain with two that are still oozing blood!!!. I actually think i need to see the GP and thats something i never admit grin

nonnie what a horrible dream xx..but have i missed something?

annie what a wonderful positive. Sorry to hear about the mole but hopefully all is well. Wish i was closer i would take your rubbish out x

Nonnie Tue 06-Aug-19 10:44:30

So many to respond to.

Sorry about the cat but it seems to have given you a purpose.

DH had a worrying mole but it turned out to be fine.

Sorry to hear about the bypass, hope it will all turn out well.

Good news about the move to Wales.

I think of TV differently, it is a distraction for me.

Hope I've remembered everyone.

Very bad dreams last night, in one I was talking to DS about something worrying but we both knew he was dead. In the other we were having an important chat and we both knew he only had a few days to live. Wondering if this means I have finally accepted it wasn't a bad dream.

gmarie

'Black dog' was the term Winston Churchill used to describe his own depression. The logo of the Black Dog Institute refers to and respects that origin. A victory sign that casts the shadow of a black dog provides a metaphor for a disorder that is constantly lurking in the background.

Annie re your daughter's mole - it is hopefully nothing to worry about. Doctors often cut them off now, send the thing to be analysed, find it's benign. My son's GF had one removed a month ago.

Can a neighbour help with the rubbish? Or the council?
Great news about your GD moving closer to you. x

gmarie Tue 06-Aug-19 04:47:20

If you don't mind my asking, what does "Black dog gang" signify?

SparklyGrandma Tue 06-Aug-19 04:34:13

Annie your council should have Assisted Rubbish Collection, they come in and take it out for you if you can’t due to frailty or Disability.

Doodle Mon 05-Aug-19 22:39:09

annie could you phone one of the neighbours you recently had contact with and ask if they could help with the rubbish? Good news about your DGD moving back to Wales.

Anniebach Mon 05-Aug-19 22:30:58

Doodle sleep heals x

nanny a sweet cat, hope you find his owners x

I feel stressed . Younger daughter phone this morning, she had been to see her GP, she has a mole on her back which concerned the GP. Tomorrow she will phone the BUPA hospital for an appointment, very worrying.

Younger granddaughters car broke down so she couldn’t come today, I now have to work out how to get the rubbish out tomorrow.

Elder granddaughter has the tenancy of a house on the Welsh
Coast, so moving from Cornwall back to Wales, she will only be an hours drive away from me so I will see much more of her. So one positive.

nanny2507 Mon 05-Aug-19 22:08:41

This is a pic of cat. I am taking it to the vet tomorrow to see if its chipped and if it's a boy or girl...still terrified under my spare bed

Doodle Mon 05-Aug-19 22:06:25

Sleep well all. I am very tired at the moment so don’t have the energy to post much but I still read Black dog every day. Thinking of you all and wishing you peace and rest.

Anniebach Mon 05-Aug-19 16:51:14

SalsaQueen Mon 05-Aug-19 15:59:22

SalsaQueen Mon 05-Aug-19 12:02:07

Thank you Annie I've been applying online for jobs, but am also doing an online application for Job Seeker's Allowance...what a palaver. All for £73 a week [sigh]

SparklyGrandma Mon 05-Aug-19 10:24:35

Morning everyone..

nanny2507 it’s called a hibiscus....thank you Salsa

Anniebach Mon 05-Aug-19 10:18:24

Hi all x

Thank you Joce

Salsa you are under so much stress, having to look for a new
job will raise your anxiety and Losing a job you enjoyed , your concerns for the elderly who will not have their meeting
place will certainly feed the depression.

Please come here as often as you need, we will listen and understand, if only we could help you x

Joce345 Mon 05-Aug-19 08:22:45

Goodness’s Annie that is a shock. Hopefully he is on his way up now to enjoy the rest of his life with his loving family..
look forward to updates on his progress..

SalsaQueen Mon 05-Aug-19 07:01:13

Annie I've been on a waiting list for counselling since May. At the moment I need to find a new job, as mine has just ended abruptly (redundancy, with no notice, due to lack of funds)
