TrendyNannie6 That certainly applies to me too.
I have possibly the ideal (according to nutritionists) diet and have for many years.
As I've got older though, I definitely need more iron than regular doses of spinach, broc and silver beet give me. So I take an iron table and feel very run rown if I miss that for a few days.
I also take MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) which also got me off the anti-inflammatories the GP had prescribed for my arthritis.
As a result of that, I didn't even need to have the knee replacement operation for which I was scheduled in 2014.
The knee had been horribly painful until I began taking MSM.
Still going strong to date, although X-rays show bone-on-bone and a lot of deterioration. All I get now is pain when I've been sitting for a while. Don't even need paracetamol for that.
And finally, I take B Complex.
When I had my 2nd son at 32, I had a slight stroke during labour and that resulted in aphasia - in my case, being unable to remember the names of objects (cup, bucket, tree etc) and words I'd known for a long time (hurricane, enthusiasm, travelling and so on)
I had to work round that, 'Could you please pass me my....that thing with my tea in it?'
Then my research suggested Vitamin B would help and I began to take it when I was about 34. It worked like a dream and also, nowadays, seems to give me more energy too.
If I run out, I definitely notice a difference as the aphasia swoops back and makes me very cross.
Since that time I've spent hundreds of hours in research, written several books, numerous articles, letters, scripts, a daily journal and a blog, so obviously I need Vit.B Complex..
I take only one pharmaceutical: 1 Metformin a day to help my old pancreas.
I have psoriasis quite badly but I go out into the bush whenever I can (which isn't very often, sadly) to gather Kumerahou, a native herb which is the only thing I have ever tried in 50 year which actually clears the psoriasis completely.
Maori herbal medicine is very effective and as I was a keen herbalist when I lived in the UK, it made sense, when I came here, to learn about the uses of native NZ plants as well.
