annie hope it’s not presumptuous of me to start the thread but I appear to have closed the last one and didn’t want to leave anyone with no where to go.
Welcome all x

Anniebach Mon 17-Feb-20 17:46:11

nanny poor you, are you having medical treatment, I hope so x

SalsaQueen Mon 17-Feb-20 17:55:44

Nanny That sounds nasty. Have you tried gargling with (very diluted) TCP?

Anniebach Did you manage to get some treatment for a UTI?

Anniebach Mon 17-Feb-20 21:01:29

SalsaQueen I am hoping I have cleared the UTI, tried the
remedy our old family GP advised me to try because of the
difficulties I have with anti biotics, I had forgotten until my
younger daughter who at one time worked in the pharmacy
reminded me.

How are you ?

Joce345 Tue 18-Feb-20 02:03:52

Annie don’t feel guilty it’s not your fault, had it been the other way round those tenants would not have been able to help you and I don’t mean that in a bad way, it is sad..
nanny thank you and get well soon
Arrived safely in Florida Disney lovely warm sunshine.
Can’t wait till tomorrow Magic Kingdom...
Night all stay safe ... warm hugs from Florida

lavenderzen Tue 18-Feb-20 08:21:36

Hope everyone is well xx Sorry you have been poorly Annie, hope you are feeling better. Thank you for coming to my rescue the other day xx.
I have been awake since goodness knows what time, worrying about the appointment yesterday with the Rheumatologist who said I have to have an MRI and something else as well, but that went straight over the top of my head, as did most of the conversation, despite being with him for almost an hour. My heart was in overdrive, I couldn't concentrate at all. Anyway I am sure the letter will explain everything when it arrives.
Hope you are having a lovely holiday Joce it sounds wonderful.
Take care everyone, one day at a time, love to all xx

nanny2507 Tue 18-Feb-20 09:02:11

Good morning all xx I have an antibiotic spray but I found a 2ns ulcer last night. I am currently with GD 300 miles away from home. I am going home tomorrow and have another appointment with gp on thursday xxx

BlueSky Tue 18-Feb-20 10:17:30

Morning all. Lavenderzen (What a calming name!) I know what you mean, when you get to see a consultant you miss most of the conversation and concentrate on something that got you worried. Like you then I'm awake most of the night going over what they might have said or what it could mean! As you say the letter will explain in details. I know you could take somebody with you to the consultation but if you are like me, you rather go on your own. I blame my DH for disclosing some facts to the GP that led to investigations. He was right of course but at the time I wish he hadn't come with me. As you say let's just try and take a day at the time.

Anniebach Tue 18-Feb-20 10:47:48

Hi all x

lavenderzen I had x rays last July for arthritis, I was told
‘You May need a MRI scan .

I was referred to a consultant but because of other health
problems decided not to attend. I did talk about the procedure
with someone who has had two hips and one knee replacement before making a decision. She had x rays, referred to a consultant who arranged a MRI, then advised to
have a hip replacement.

I am not making a medical diagnosis on your problem but it’s
possible the MRI is a usual part of the procedure x

Anniebach Tue 18-Feb-20 10:52:05

nanny yes see your GP who will treat your throat , please
let us know how it goes, good luck.

BlueSky hello, how are you ? We are all here for you x

Anniebach Tue 18-Feb-20 10:54:46

Joce well hello our little traveller , I knew you would do it,
enjoy every minute, you have fought so many problems and
come through, so proud of you x

BlueSky Tue 18-Feb-20 11:15:17

Hi Annie not to bad trying not to worry about further investigations but as I have health anxiety as well, it's hard to stop myself googling. Anyway I try to post on other forums as well as here just to talk about something else. flowers

SalsaQueen Tue 18-Feb-20 13:05:43

Aniebach I'm feeling really well, thanks. I hope the remedy works for you x

Joce Well done. I hope you have a great time.

Anniebach Tue 18-Feb-20 13:28:28

BlueSky, I too post on other threads , if possible try not to
google too much for health, they can ease your worries but
they can also cause more anxiety, I know it’s difficult, looking
for reassurance x

SalsaQueen so pleased you are feeling well, the remedy I
am taking seems to be working,

SalsaQueen Tue 18-Feb-20 18:16:15

* Anniebach* Fingers crossed that it clears up soon x

Anniebach Tue 18-Feb-20 20:55:00

Thank you SalsaQueen it seems to be working, x

Anniebach Wed 19-Feb-20 12:54:59

Hi all x

How are things going ? I am fed up with the rain , no birds in
the tree outside my living room window, I miss them .

SalsaQueen Wed 19-Feb-20 12:58:59

Anniebach No birds here at the moment, but 2 squirrels on the bird table! I leave nuts for them, further down the garden. The pigeons sometimes get there first and scoff the lot.

Going round to younger son's soon, to do a bit of cleaning - I offered, and go weekly, whilst he's at work.

nanny2507 Wed 19-Feb-20 18:06:50

well things just seem to be getting worse for me...i still have the ulcers and the leaking ear but i now have conjunctivitis and a boil on my bum...i have also been going to slimming world and have lost 1.5 stone but today i have put on 2.5 lbs i,m really cheesed off . Hope everyone else is having a much better run at life then me xxxx

lavenderzen Wed 19-Feb-20 18:44:43

Hello everyone xx

Thank you Bluesky, yes it would be better to take someone with me, but I would rather go on my own. Feel a bit more resigned about it all today and I must stop frightening myself by googling things! You are right Annie it may well be a routine thing. My GP rang this afternoon to tell me there is a prescription for antibiotics for me at the surgery, I have had awful sinus problems. He was very nice, a locum.

Hope you start to feel better soon nanny2507 you really sound in the wars x

Hope you are feeeling better too Annie and Salsa Queen.

This weather is dreadful, just incessant rain, it never seems to stop. I hope you are safe in Wales. Fortunately I am on a hill, so it just flows like a river down the road to the bottom. I feel so sorry for these poor people who are flooded.

Take care everyone xx

SalsaQueen Wed 19-Feb-20 20:13:03

Nanny2507 Oh you poor thing, you've got a few things to contend with. Never mind that you've put on a little bit, you've done well in losing 1.5 stone, so well done for that x

Lavenderzen I'm feeling very well, thanks

My friend is having a rough time - her mum died last weekend, and now her husband is in hospital (he's been out of work for 4 months after losing his job) with something wrong with his heart - he's got to have a pacemaker - and TB (I didn't realise people still got that)

Anniebach Wed 19-Feb-20 22:27:50

SalsaQueen you are a busy bee, I am waiting for the magpies to come to the tree , I miss greeting them ! Sad
Sorry for your friend

lavenderzen it is best not to google but I understand it’s
temping, you can find something which gives peace of mind
but you can find you have bubonic plague . It does seen a scan
is part of procedure x

nanny you are seeing your GP tomorrow, let’s hope he can
get things clearing up quickly, you are having a rough time ,
let us know x

Anniebach Thu 20-Feb-20 14:03:01

Hi all x

Thank heaven it’s stopped raining. The weather affects my lows.

Doodle Thu 20-Feb-20 14:22:37

Hi annie and all. It’s wet and rainy here too. Could do with some sunshine to cheer us up.
nanny you sound a bit run down. Don’t worry about your diet when you are feeling poorly just concentrate on getting well again.
Sorry about your friend Salsa. Sad news.
Hope joce having a good time
Hope you are all ok x

nanny2507 Thu 20-Feb-20 18:22:23

Hello all salsa how sad for your friend I hope she has a good support network x
Thank you to all for wishing me well. I have been put on antibiotics and took 2 as advised went to bed with my doggies and slept for 4 hours! Unlike me. But I am feeling a little better for it xxx

SalsaQueen Thu 20-Feb-20 20:09:30

Nanny2507 The sleep must have done you good. Glad you're feeling a bit better. x

Anniebach The miserable weather and grey sky is a bitdepressing, isn't it. We had a bit of sunshine and blue sky here in Nottingham, but it was very brief. Roll on spring [smile ] x

everyone My other friend's mum died last weekend, too (she was 88, went in her sleep, so peaceful) and it made me think of my own mum, who died in 1995 (she was 72, I was 36 then). Even afetr all these years, I miss her so much
