annie hope it’s not presumptuous of me to start the thread but I appear to have closed the last one and didn’t want to leave anyone with no where to go.
Welcome all x

Anniebach Mon 27-Jan-20 22:13:02

SalsaQueen so pleased to learn things are going alright for
you x

lavenderzen thank you x

The dog lived in the family home with my son in law and
Grandchildren, as did all my daughters pets. When my daughter became ill my son in law continued to care for the
pets as did the children. The dog which died this week was the Last of my daughters pets. She had never been without dogs since I bought her her first puppy when her father died, she was 7. Her illness robbed her of her children and pets.

How cruel some mental illnesses can be. Her youngest daughter is studying psychology at university , she wants to
help those with mental health problems. I am very proud of
her.

annie that’s so sad. Your daughter lost so much because of an illness that she had no control over. Perhaps they are at last together again x

Joce345 Mon 27-Jan-20 23:21:44

Namsnanny Tue 28-Jan-20 15:58:37

Hello all, just to say I haven't been very active on here recently so I'm not up to date with things, but join in with joce345 in being thankful for people like Annibach gdaughter too.
I've had a few days away from Gn because a family member has just died.
It was such a shock because I was told they were in recovery.
But I must think of others not myself for a while.

Doodle Tue 28-Jan-20 16:09:20

namsnanny sorry to hear about your family loss.
Hi everyone. How are you all?

Joce345 Tue 28-Jan-20 16:42:24

Namsnanny sorry to hear your sad news

Hi Doodle how are you today?

SalsaQueen Tue 28-Jan-20 20:06:38

Doodle Thanks. My son is 38, and here again. He walked away from the relationship with only his own personal possessions (tv, dvds, computer, that kind of thing). She wanted to have a baby, he doesn't (he's got 2 girls with another woman, he has them regularly). She's already got 2 boys, who have looked to my son as a father. Their own dad isn't very good and lives miles away. Ah well. How are things with your Grandson?

Anniebach How are you getting on? Any more attempts to get outside? It's very cold now though.

How has everyone been today? I went to work, then painted 3 walls in our spare bedroom. In the middle of getting it all done (wallpapering and new curtains, beds, rug, etc., ready for the granddaughters coming here at the weekend.

It's nice that the mornings are lighter earlier. It makes getting up a bit easier smile

Doodle Tue 28-Jan-20 22:22:24

Hello all. I’m ok joce thank you. I’ve been out to lunch today so feeling quite full tonight (eaten too much as usual blush
salsa thank you for asking, DGS just stating treatment so fingers crossed it will help him. Sorry to hear your son’s relationship has broken down. Seems a shame for the young boys who have been used to having him around.
annie are you ok?
Sleep well all xx

Anniebach Tue 28-Jan-20 22:33:20

Namsnanny sorry to learn you are suffering a bereavement,
yes think of others but don’t forget yourself X

Salsaqueen your son understandably doesn’t want 5 children , we can but hope they sort things out, make sure you try to
avoid stress.
I did more recycling today, not far from the front door but I did go onto the garden path. You were certainly busy. X

Doddle I hope and pray the treatment will help the little
chap.

Joce marking the days off the calendar for that fantastic
Disney trip x

Doodle Tue 28-Jan-20 22:52:07

annie glad you are venturing out on the path. That’s fantastic. Hopefully when the weather warms a bit you can go a bit further. x

SalsaQueen Tue 28-Jan-20 22:59:23

Anniebach He's 38, got 2 girls who live with their (very controlling) mother, and he was step-father to 2 impressionable boys. I only hope he can save enough money in order to rent (he'll never afford a deposit to buy) somewhere decent and set up on his own. You're doing well. Small steps, but keep on with it smile. x

Doodle Good, I hope the treatment helps him, bless him. x

I couldn't be bothered to go to Zumba this evening. I stayed in and had a few Vodka and lemonades grin. Once the cat comes in, I'll be off to bed. Night all.

Joce345 Tue 28-Jan-20 23:06:23

Annie you are doing so well with the recycling and garden path... yes I am counting the days down, looking forward to a bit of nice warm sunshine, and of course Daffy Duck.. kids are so excited, need to get my self back into getting up in the morning I am finding it so hard at the minute my head is is in a bad place on waking up.. it does help to know I am not on my own... need to be up and out in a morning don’t want to miss Micky hehe

Doodle Tue 28-Jan-20 23:46:34

joce that waking moment in the morning can be a problem if we have something on our mind. Try reciting a poem or something to keep your mind busy till you are fully awake. Or try the breathing thing where you just concentrate on every in and out breath. I am great at giving advice. I must try it myself sometime ?

Joce345 Wed 29-Jan-20 13:37:11

Doodle thank you for that, I will definitely give that a go ...
Yes I am good at giving advice wish I could listen to my self sometimes. But I am happy to take it as well.. I do listen to hypnosis in a morning not that it does much good but gives me something else to think of when my head isn’t my own... I do keep tell my daughters, I wish I could swop it for a turnip ?

Anniebach Wed 29-Jan-20 13:47:05

Hi all x

Will be back with you later today. Grim morning, younger
daughter contacts me every morning, this morning no text,
no answer on mobile or house phone = 3 hours of panic,
exhausted.

She is safe , went to hair salon, her 9.00am text came through
12.20 !

Joce345 Wed 29-Jan-20 16:30:51

Aww dear Annie we never stop worrying no matter how old they are..

Dawn22 Wed 29-Jan-20 21:01:23

Joce345 Wed 29-Jan-20 23:18:21

Hello Dawn it’s good to see you do hope you are ok.
Night all sleep well

SalsaQueen Thu 30-Jan-20 13:04:39

Hello, how is everyone today?

One of the elderly residents where I work (sheltered housing scheme) gave me a bar of chocolate today, for helping her, she said - she had fallen in her bathroom, and I went around, checked her for injuries. helped her to get up, settled her down in her chair, made her a drink..... she's 95, mobile, has her wits about her, and isn't on any medication for anything! Remarkable for anyone, but for 95, she's marvellous. Nice to feel appreciated smile

BlueSky Thu 30-Jan-20 14:10:38

Annie just read your post about unanswered texts/phone calls. Yes this technology is great for keeping in touch then something happens like you said and it's panick station!

Anniebach Thu 30-Jan-20 14:50:28

Hi all x

SalsaQueen how lovely to read your post, your kindness and
the lady expressing her gratitude x

BlueSky I overreacted, she messages every morning, she lives in a very isolated area and this week was alone, I waited
3 hours and my thoughts went back to the phone call just over
two years ago to tell my my elder daughter was dead. A message
was sent at 9.00 to say ‘have hair appointment’ I received it
12.20 . As you say - panic stations , I will admit I was a wreck .

BlueSky Thu 30-Jan-20 15:25:58

Annie I overreact every time a message/call is not answered, to do with my anxiety I guess.
