The only advice is one I am sure you do not require, keep telling each other you love them dearly.

He was a little more alert today, but miserable. I have started feeding him ice lollies - he likes the taste and it is only a tiny bit of liquid to swallow. Trying to take in liquid makes him choke and cough. Understood a bit more of the occasional things he tried to say today. He cannot really move at all.

What he needs is peace - he has no quality of life now, poor man. I really hope this does not drag on too long - there is no way back from this place.
