Chrissey that is horrible to live with. The letter thing can work very well for some. I slightly new an older lady who was always polite and sweet but then she showed me the letter she had written which was full of such abuse and swearing I am sure it did her the world of good. However, when I tried it mine was polite, kind and not at all effective!

Scardycat what is the long term effect of Afib? Is it something you have to live with or does it change?

Doodle I too had a not sleeping night last night and I don't even have tinnitus or any other excuse. Beginning to feel like every time I do physical exercise I have a bad night which is clearly wrong. See what tomorrow brings when I have a walk into town planned.

Flutter I think not knowing can sometimes be worse than knowing. So many possible reasons for dry skin but I don't think the mask would cause it if you have moisturiser on. Have you been using anything different on your face or your hair in the shower?

Lucyanne no, never heard of it but seems like they have a quick response and that it looks at the bigger picture.

I still haven't caught up on all the posts but hope today is a good day for everyone.

I was referred to the 'Persistent Physical Symptoms Services Physical Health and Rehabilitation Psychology Service'. My referral is mainly for Complex Neurological, cardio, Physio, PTSD.

Not having heard of this department before I wondered if it may be helpful for any of you lovely people?

I note they cover HA, continual pain, anxiety, depression Gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, cancer, M.H. etc.

It is charity funded and seems to cover most counties of England & Scotland run by the Kings fund Org. NHS. A doctor has to make a referral. It does mean admitting that MH is a major factor in your day to day life. They coordinate with all the varies specialists.

If you think it could help you it is useful to request a full printed copy of all your 'dedacted' medical notes. This ensures you get all the notes/comments doctors, specialists etc. have made about you over the years that are not on a redacted copy. £15 from doctors surgery.

Refereed 3 wks ago: have had a home visit from MH & psychologist, 2 physio and a heart specialist tel app.

They also look at your medication. All those leaflets we never read that come with medication! 3 of my tablets were causing some of symptoms and have now been changed.

Hi friends again just popping in to say hello. Still no results and family worry still the same.
A little question- I have started to get dry skin on my face - chin area and around eyes. Have tried couple of creams but still bothering me. I am now wondering if it’s wearing face mask or stress. If anyone has any suggestions please share as on top of other things going on this is now getting me down.

Scaredycat I wish my brain had a ‘sleep’ mode at night. Last night I was so tired and not really troubled by much by my mind just wouldn’t let me sleep. The tinnitus keeps me awake too. In the end I did sleep but was tired this morning,

The anxieties we all suffer with make you both physically tired as well as mentally exhausted. Just wish there was an OFF switch. ! Everyone of you are so brave and kind I am so glad you are here.
Annie great that the Sciatica has stayed away it must be making such a difference.
Chrissy I understand that feeling of relief after a good Docs visit and the awful doubts and new worries that can spring up so quickly after. Annie is right we need to trust . I had a CD for relaxation by a man called Andrew Johnson which was really good and helped.
Hope the Vit D has soaked in Nonnie my husband is doing the same thing this afternoon!!
I,m struggling a bit at the moment as the AFib is so frequent at the moment - but at least I know what it is. It scares me and makes me very anxious but I try not to let it stop me doing things .

Chrissy if you haven’t be able to rip up the letter you are
working against the hypnotherapist, I don’t mean this unkindly but because I care.

When working with a therapist it has to be ‘all the way’, not
bits you are comfortable with.

I had EMDR therapy last year, at times it was distressing , I
wanted to avoid going back to a certain time and reliving it, when I did relive it , it brought back the terror I experienced, but I did it and it helped so much.

Trust is important in therapy,

Nonnie I do trust the doctors but, although the relief is immense when I get told that I’m fine, it doesn’t take long until the next worrying thing comes along. I used to be at the doctors all the time but now I’ve switched altogether and put off going as long as I can until I’m driving myself mad with worry.

My Dad worried about me and my brother when we were young but, once we’d grown up, he was focused on his own health. When he got to his 50s he started looking through information on health books and he was obsessed with them. He was keeping a log of all his symptoms. In his 60s he used to phone me all the time asking me to look things up on the internet. He carried on like that until he died in 2012. The hypnotherapist told me that it was no wonder I was how I was. She got me to write a letter to my Dad being absolutely honest about how his behaviour had affected me and then rip the letter up. I wrote the letter and realised that I was very angry with him because of how I am now. I haven’t been able to rip the letter up yet. The hypnotherapist gave me CDs to listen to which should let me self hypnotise but they just don’t work.

Nice thought. Just swept the drive and started on the pavement outside (Magnolia droppings) when the council gutter sweeper saw me, pulled up and indicated for me to sweep it all into the gutter. The sun is shining and there are lovely people in the world.

give up. Just a thought but do you not trust doctors ? You said
your father had worries over health, was this his health or his
families health?

Sorry, me again. You lovely people have been suggesting different things I could try to get on top of my anxieties and I keep saying that I’ve tried that and it didn’t work. When I thought about it, it probably comes across that I’m not putting enough effort into finding something that works or I’m trying something once and, because it didn’t make any difference, I’m giving up. I’ve virtually tried everything I can think of, the only things I can think of that I haven’t tried yet are acupuncture and reflexology.

I really have tried with everything, either offered to me by the NHS or things that I have paid for myself. I would give anything to not have to live like this.

I’m probably paranoid (which wouldn’t be unusual) but just wanted to say this.

Doodle I have no idea if the oat milk really does help but it is the only thing he has done differently so we are both trying it. A bit too creamy for me so I am diluting mine. I think there is quite a lot written about the harm lactose can do so, as oats are so good for us, we are giving it a non-scientific trial.

Oh Joce any particular reason or did it just come out of the blue?

Chrissey I think your Dad probably influenced you because I have a friend who is 'allergic/sensitive' to lots of things which I never understood until I met her mother. Not sure we can overcome childhood influences.

Feeling tired but also a bit motivated so going to tidy then front garden this morning and then 'work' on my Vit D this afternoon in the back garden.

Anniebach Pretty sure it was learnt behaviour from my childhood. I don’t have many memories of being small but every memory I do have is medically related. My Dad was very focused on health all his life. I’m really glad that you’ve had another day without the sciatic pain. Doodle no, Psychiatrist hasn’t mentioned any other treatment, he just hands out the pills. I’m looking forward to trying the acupuncture. Lizbethann you are always welcome to talk here. I don’t have HA but I do have other anxieties. Although the causes are different we all suffer the same problems, heart pounding, nausea, stress, panic, insomnia, low mood and depression.
You are not the only one on this thread with HA. So others here do understand. Yes our Annie is amazing. Our shining light. ?
Chrissy you can write as much as you like on here. It seems you have tried hard to overcome your anxiety but not much has helped so far. 3 months between appointments with your psychiatrist sounds a long time. Has he/she suggested anything else you could try?
Nonnie glad you are feeling better. How does the oat milk help your DHs knee if you don’t mind me asking. I am just curious.

Chrissey woffle away, that is what we are here for even if there is nothing we can do to help. One of my meds gives me a nasty taste, could be that.

Lixbeth don't put your HA down, we are all here because we need support, none of us can experience what the others are going through and there is no list of who is worse than others. Some feel they can say a lot about their lives but others can't. I can't because an unpleasant person stalks me on here and others will have their own reasons.

Better so far today. This morning DH told me my dress 'needs an underskirt', made me laugh can you even buy them now? Should he have said 'petticoat'? It is a simple cotton dress, not see through at all.

DH had a better night, put it down to switching to oat milk, thinks it has helped his poorly knee. We are going to both give it a trial.

Sun is shining, I am not in physical pain, off to buy a new phone. Life has been worse so making the most of it today. Hope you can all find something to be grateful for today.
