Annie xx Thank you.
Starmer’s plan to ban under 16’s from social media
A place you know you won’t visit now but would have liked to
Hello , a new thread, welcome all x
I have been off line since this morning , and land line down !
Annie xx Thank you.
lavender so good to see you x
Hello everyone, just calling in to say thank you for your kind thoughts and to wish you all, each and everyone, a peaceful night and a good night's sleep.
Will catch up with the posts tomorrow.
Stay safe, take care and love to all xx
We are all struggling, we had the lockdown then came Summer, walks, gardening, seeing family again .
Now there is lockdown in some parts of the country, weather
miserable, flue jabs etc. Anxiety flooding the country .
Evening everyone
Nonnie so happy for you having a long call with your DS last night, gives you such a boost doesn’t it. Did you have cake delivered?
luckyrose Don’t blame yourself for causing bad things to happen to your ex SIL, your thoughts didn’t cause them to happen. I’m glad that posting here has helped you feel a bit better, some really lovely people here.
Scrapgranny Hope you had a lovely walk with your dog.
Doodle Yes we get out for a walk most days unless the weather’s too bad. Did you do some crafting today?
Annie I have no idea what a floating keyboard is
Glad you’re back. That’s not a nice decision to have to make about stopping your mini tornado visiting but I completely understand.
Scaredycat Sorry you’re not feeling too good but how lovely that you had some visitors. That’s not good having to wait until Nov for your flu jab, I wonder why they weren’t available earlier. How lovely, a new baby
Joce Sounds like you had a lovely day
BlueSky Sorry you’re feeling low today, these are very worrying times. Let’s hope we get some good news soon.
I’ve tried to keep busy today but have struggled with my thoughts a bit. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
Have a nice evening everyone and sleep well x
Hi old friends and welcome new friends. Annie glad you are managing to message. Think that’s sensible about your mini tornado.
Bluesky ditto to everything you said in your last post.
Not much to say as fed up.
Hope everyone has a good nights sleep xxx
Hi all. Feeling rather low today, the weather doesn’t help plus this virus causing second lockdowns, people seem to be carrying on as they please, makes you wonder about the future. Like a lot of grandparents, I’m not just worried about myself but especially about children and grandchildren who have to be out there.
Evening all welcome back Annie.
Doodle I have a good day, been out with my son and family pumpkin picking, up to my knees in sludge wet and cold, but really really enjoyed it.. it was the first time I have done it my little Granddaughter loved it, got a huge one and a very small one ?? happy day.
Back home nice and warm sat next to my log burner.
Nonnie you made me smile I know what I would like to do to my neighbours but must clear my head of the thought ?
My thoughts are with all the BDG life could be better but could be a lot worse.. Stay strong keep plodding.. ?
Scaredycat the fear of the virus is a black cloud hanging over
us, you have shown much courage, walks, tea in friends gardens . I find I can be concentrating on something and quite
relaxed then a telephone call and the caller will speak of the virus. I now have decided i should stop my mini tornado coming to see me for a while, the thought of 33,000 students
around the city and the city in lockdown !
Thankyou Scaredy-cat I am sure it will pass. I also am super scared of th3 virus even though I don’t have to go to work and stay home mostly 8 do have grandchildren round now they are only young
Afternoon all.
Feel a bit worn out with everything these last 2 days . I,m sick of feeling so scared of the virus . My lovely stepson and Dil popped round and I felt so nervous having someone in my house but so pleased to see them too. They texted before coming so I could have said no but I didn,t as we hadn,t seen them for ages . So pleased they came. Some days it just really
Gets to me - the fear . Lucky to have such a lovely family.
Joce so sorry that your neighbours are behaving so badly . It must be so hard having lived there happily for so long - i hope they will get moved.
Lucy Anne yes it’s been a job to get the flu jabs sorted - we finally got an appt for November!!
Doodle I love the sound of the Norwegian lights - candles do it for me. I agree about leaving the news and papers alone sometimes - there must be some good news they can find to cheer us up. I have nice news my son ,who lives abroad ,his stepson and his wife have a new baby today a little boy .
Hello and welcome Scrapgranny hope you had a good walk.
Nonnie pleased you had a good chat with your son - I had an image of your dil in a frilly pinny baking her cake!!
It is hard not being able to see friends both old and new isn,t it although I have plucked up courage to have tea a few times in friends gardens and felt so much better afterwards.
LuckyRose sorry you feel so unhappy - hope you feel better soon
Hi Annie good to have you back. I,ve never heard of a floating keyboard. I panic if anything goes wrong and always think it’s my fault. Hope you have no more probs.
Wish you all an enjoyable eveningxxx
Hi all x
I didn’t loose the keyboard, it shrunk into a floating keyboard but saying ‘floating keyboard on voice recognition !
Welcome Scrapgranny it’s good you are supported by good
friends and have an understanding GP, I was widowed Young
with a 5 and 7 year old, like me you now have your and your husbands grandchildren x
luckyrose sorry you are so troubled , you need to free yourself of that anger and hatred, it is damaging you , it can be
difficult to let go of past hurts but don’t let them eat away at you, we cannot change the past no matter how we wish we could
Scrapgranny that sounds a really sensible idea to tell your friends what signs to look for so they can help you see when you’re going downhill. Your GP sounds on the ball too.
And you have a dog. That’s a big plus. Getting out and walking and the company of a dog is good medicine. What sort of dog do you have?
Joce how are you today. Hope those neighbours aren’t causing more problems. Have you got another knitting project on the go?
Chrissy dull dark days don’t help anyone. It’s a shame you can’t use your SAD light. Do you go for walks much?
Nonnie Things will pick up. Do you speak to your friends on the phone or face time. I know it’s not the same but hopefully we will get back to meeting up with others soon.
luckyrose sorry you have low moods. Mornings are worse for some and moods lift during the day. It is understandable to feel angry at those who hurt your loved ones but that anger only hurts you not them. Your are not responsible for your SIL losing his job or his mother’s death but it can’t be good for you to feel like this. Have you been to see the GP about your low mood?
Annie not sure we could read the Welsh if you texted it. ?
Hope your mini tornado fixes the problem soon and you are back with us. We miss you xx
Afternoon
Weather is clearing up here so off to walk my dog. Expecting it to be muddy and slippery walk. Enjoy the weekend everyone
Nonnie it is difficult keeping in touch with friends at the difficult time. Thinking of you all
I am glad I have read this part of the forum. I do not feel so bad now. I have low mood issues. Some mornings life feels worthless hopeless, then later on things are fine and I have snapped out of it. Just this week though my hatred for my ex so min law who I don’t see but he sees my granddaughter has got me evil and bitter. Last time I felt like this I actually dreamt that I had set him on fire. This was because he had had a baby with his new girlfriend. However I am trying to think nicer because before when I had these extreme feelings he lost his job and his mother died so I feel guilty. He has now got engaged to the home wrecker. I also feel unhappy about myself in general thanks for listening x
BlueSky I feel the same, mostly housework can wait as long as the essentials are clean. Think I may be reduced to reorganising the pantry to keep busy now. That doesn't happen often.
Oh Joce difficult neighbours must be horrible at the best of times but now that we spend so much time at home it must be intolerable. Please don't let them bring you down. Can you find a way of 'retaliating' that would amuse you like playing the 1812 very loud and directing the speaker at them? Easy for me to say when I am not in that situation.
Scrapgranny welcome. You sound like a survivor but even survivors need support sometimes.
Lucyanne why did they run out of vaccine? Can't be difficult to count how many you have and then invite the relevant number to come!
Chrissy yes, you understand, being positive doesn't always help. I enjoy ironing!
Had a lovely long call from DS last night, reminded me what a wonderful family I have. He is working so hard, doing a part-time degree as well and rebuilding his garden too. Dil is on furlough and having fun being a '1950s housewife'
. Think there might be a cake drop off later.
Been thinking about all the friends I haven't seen for so long. Used to see my oldest friend at least every couple of weeks and haven't seen her since February. Have old friends who live only a few miles away in different directions and haven't seen them either. New friends are all keeping safe so we only talk online, don't even see the lovely neighbours unless we happen to be at the front at the same time. One did drop off a couple of bags of fresh eating apples yesterday but in the past would have come in for a cuppa and a chat.
Dismal day, will do the ironing.
Morning everyone
Doodle Thanks, I’ll look into those lights.
Annie Sorry your IPad still isn’t working, hope you can sort something out.
Scrapgranny It sounds like you have a good doctor. It’s so good that you have such good friends.
Hope everyone else is ok. My mood is quite low, the awful weather isn’t helping. Have a good day everyone x
Morning all wishing you are a good weekend.
Annie hope you are up and running again soon, hurry back.. sending you a big hug x
Thank you all for the lovely welcome.
Doodle my doctors have been great in checking up on my (every 2 months). When I start to slide I am allowed to up my medication. I have spoken to my close friends and have given them examples of what I do when the depression is getting worse and they. An point it out to me. I am blessed with my friends.
Off to bed. Sleep well everyone
Will phone mini tornado tomorrow she will sort it out tried
This in Welsh so so so funny
Annie so glad to hear from you. If you turn your iPad off completely and on again does it come back.
Hope you’re back working again soon. We miss you.
xxx
Hi all
Voice recognition Lost keyboard
Am Reading your posts
Love and hugs
Annie
Goodnight all x
Joce I too would be reluctant to involve the police. I would try getting the council to do more to start with.
I understand now if it’s the whole year at home I thought your DGD was self isolating and not allowed to be in contact with her siblings, I was wondering how that would work.
I would take heart that they have had other complaints. That might count for something. Hope the council will be more helpful,
Scrapgranny welcome, of course you can join us. You have been through some really hard times. You say the medication helps. If you are having a bad time at the moment is it worth checking with the GP you are on the right dose.
Chrissy, you try some bulbs with a red or orange glow to make your room look more cosy in winter.
You are right Chrissy they should have never done that, I was so shocked! Poor Joce fancy putting up with toxic neighbours on top of everything else! But if they are council tenants they should be investigated and moved! Unfortunately people like that are everywhere.
Welcome Scrapgranny!
