How is everyone?

lavender chasing the dog sounds not only like good exercise but also fun!

Annie in our experience the right house finds its new owner. Last time we moved our intended purchase didn't move along and due to very strange circumstances I ended up talking to someone who knew the area we were moving to and was pointing out properties on Rightmove. She talked me into going to see one we had previously rejected without even driving past, we fell in love and now live in it. Our DSs have had similar situations and when the right one comes along it all goes according to plan.

Today I need a kick to get me going, nothing vital to be done, had planned to do some garden hacking but it looks like rain again. DS & DiL coming for dinner and bringing some home grown veg, I expect we will talk about whether their jobs are likely to survive.

For what its worth this is my opinion about the next few weeks. We cannot predict how the virus will react to children going back to school and more people using public transport as they go back to work, so what is the point in worrying about it? There is likely to be lots of doom and gloom but we can't do anything other than keep us and our families secure. Whatever that prayer is about accepting the things we cannot change might be appropriate.

Anyone familiar with the books of Dr Claire Weekes, she certainly helped people , very much read , her first book published in the 60’s, a different view on anxiety and depression to GP’s at the time and her books are still being sold.

ScaredyCat I agree about masks for over 12’s in education, you have much stress worrying about your granddaughters.

Doodle yes I saw the house, my granddaughter sent me the
Estate Agents blurb so I saw all the rooms etc. They have put in an offer but I have doubts, the people selling haven’t found
a house they want to move on to .

Doodle my daughter has settled down a little at the moment, thank you for your thoughts.
It has never stopped raining today but I still had a short walk with my four legged friend. He gets very giddy when he has been out in the rain, and always races round the house when we get home, with me trying to catch him with a towel

Annie I hope your Grandaughter has good news - what a lovely kind girl she sounds. It is such a worry when your families are out in the world. My eldest Grandaughter is a teacher and back to work next week and her 2 children are back to school. The next oldest is a nurse and has been on the frontline since this all started - she has a 3 yr old too. Yes don,t know how the Unis will cope when they all go back - I just wish they would make mask wearin mandatory for all over 12,s in education

Nonnie - what a nice time you had yesterday - being careful is what helps you to enjoy it - me too!! If everyone was careful it would help so much. I play the alphabet game in the night too- all sorts countries,names,food and the rest!! It does work often.

Lavender glad you are feeling better. When I wake in the night and my brain starts working I try to distract it by mindlessness. One thing is my times tables, just need to think about it and it drives the other things out. Another thing is thinking of fruit or veg for each letter of the alphabet. I don't try anything which needs a lot of thought just slight distraction. It works more often than it fails.

Annie that's a lot to have on your mind, hope it all works out OK. I err on the side of caution as I don't want to be the one who carries the virus to others. Some of it may be OTT but why not?

I pray for the BDG every night and currently for Doodle by name because of the particular circumstances.

My 'lunch' yesterday lasted for 3 1/2 hours! Great catch up. Positive for today is that I popped out to the local shops, finally managed to buy a birthday card for DH which is lovely but doesn't say he is the perfect man! Came home about a minute before the heavens opened.

I’m ok lavender thank you. Keeping myself busy and occupied. How are you and your DD doing? I too am a nighttime worrier. I am trying now, if I wake up, not to allow myself to think of anything. If my mind keeps going onto things I count sheep (well something like that ?) .

I can understand you being worried about your mini tornado annie . Shame you missed her visit but wise of her to keep her distance under the circumstances.
I hope your elder DGD has picked a good house. When you find one you fall in love with it’s difficult not to get excited. Let’s hope her father agrees with the choice. ?

Your dear Granddaughter is so caring shes worried for you Annie. Fingers crossed the results will be good..I understand your worries for her going back to university. Wish this horrible virus would go away for us all.
I really don’t understand the governments thinking, how is it all going to work in university’s or schools.
Did anyone see the young woman on TV yesterday, she was saying her little boy could not have his friends to play in the garden, but would be going back to school to mix with 30 + children, there thinking is beyond me or am I missing something..

My mini tornado was coming to see me yesterday, she messaged me to say a girl in work had been sent home with
symptoms so she wouldn’t come , waiting now for the results
of the girl’s test. My younger granddaughter has a part time
job in a store during the holidays. This has me concerned for her and if the university opens this autumn how can they track
all the students, many come from China and other countries.

Elder granddaughter viewed a house today, she couldn’t send me details until this morning, she and her partner love the
house and are putting in an offer tomorrow, she hasn’t asked
her father who is a builder to see it first, he will not be pleased.

Been so much rain, yesterday I peered out the front door,
Fred’s cover has come off, heaven knows what damage has
been done. More rain tomorrow and I can’t get to Fred.

I feel better today (thank you for your good wishes), it comes and goes - I have so much going on at present, it feels overwhelming sometimes. One step at a time is the best thing I think - only deal with one thing, the next thing can wait 'til tomorrow! That's my philosophy now, after waking in the night time and time again, going over and over things!
I'm hoping the weather improves for tomorrow and I can try a walk with my four legged friend. Haven't been so far lately.
