Hello , a new thread, welcome all x

I have been off line since this morning , and land line down !

Jan16 Mon 24-Aug-20 12:39:51

Flutterby1. I had bleparitis quite a lot. It’s when your eye gets gritty and inflamed.I had a use a cotton bud with baby shampoo to clean along the bottom edge of my eye and also along the top of my eyelid. It’s a harmless condition but very annoying especially when people keep saying what’s wrong with your eye!

Nonnie Mon 24-Aug-20 11:25:25

Just me Annie. Yes, I know ...........................................

Feeling good that I did my walk into town, timed it, only 30 mins. Everyone keeping their distance but just a few not wearing masks in shops. DH collected me because shopping was heavy.

Anniebach Mon 24-Aug-20 10:15:52

Hi all x

nonnie I am sorry you would feel a failure if you didn’t tick
off everything on a list, I never do all on my list, what isn’t done goes on the next day’s list , you should be kinder to yourself , do you hold ‘should and ought’ for others or just
yourself?

Nonnie Mon 24-Aug-20 09:43:40

BlueSky that sounds serious, talk to your GP

Scaredycat although it must be horrid to wake like that it seems as if you managed to control it, well done.

Doodle good to see you pop in but don't feel you have to. Maybe just look in if you don't feel up to commenting. Just know that some of us are praying for you by name and all are wishing you better times.

annie glad the list works for you, I can't do that as it would be very long and I would feel a failure for not doing it! I am trying to push away the 'should' and 'ought' which have plagued me all my life so much that a colleague was overheard saying "You can be sure that Nonnie will always do the right thing". I choose to think it was meant nicely.

I am just about to walk into town, takes about 40 minutes of brisk walking, get some cards and some shopping for neighbours and treat myself to some M & S cherries. DH will pick me up as we are not using public transport at the moment. After that I'll plan something for tomorrow.

Hope you all find a positive today.

nonnie I write a list on my iPad, ‘things to do day’, even
‘try cutting finger nails’ , there is satisfaction in placing a tick x

ScaredyCat the pandemic has caused much fear, I find it
difficult that I can’t make new plans to go out of the house x

lavender you take care x

Doodle hope is so important, hold onto it, and do rest x

lavenderzen Sun 23-Aug-20 20:27:24

Doodle Sun 23-Aug-20 20:10:54

Evening all. Much to my surprise I am back with you. My problems are not resolved by any means but there is an element of hope. I thank you all for your kind thoughts and for your prayers, for which I am extremely grateful.
lucyanne welcome.
Dear friends I am very tired tonight (worry does that to me).
I just wanted to pop in and say hello and thank you and hopefully will catch up more tomorrow. Sleep well x

Scaredycat Sun 23-Aug-20 14:44:40

Good afternoon all and welcome to Lucyanne.
Thinking of you Doodle so sorry you are having a worrying time.
Today started with that awful feeling of dread that this pandemic seems to have planted in me but as the day goes by it fades a bit as long as I keep busy. Hopefully the rain will hold off and we can have drinks in the garden with my daughter and son in law. Well they,ll drink and I,ll have tea as I mustn,t drink alcohol????
Nonnie good idea to put stuff in the diary no matter how little. I was only looking yesterday at the first months of the diary year and comparing them to now .
Whatever you are doing I hope you enjoy the rest of this Sunday x

BlueSky Sun 23-Aug-20 12:46:32

Hi all. As I mentioned on a thread I started today I'm plague by what seems like gastritis. Had it before some time last year. Guess it will have to be the GP again, wish I didn't have to bother. Hope you'll have a peaceful day x

Nonnie Sun 23-Aug-20 12:45:12

Welcome to the gang Lucyanne

Jan yes it was me, I get people mixed up all the time!

Lavender I think the GPs have pharmacists now part time and their main purpose is to ensure the surgery is not over prescribing. I had a call a few years ago to check up on mine too.

Doodle if you do pop in to take a look I just want you to know that I will hold you especially in my prayers by name.

I'm having a so so day today, not great but not too down in the dumps. I have recently started making sure there are things in my diary, mostly small but just something most days. Going into town tomorrow just to buy birthday cards which I don't need yet. Hoping I feel up to walking in. Yesterday all the IT seemed to be against me but some of it is better today, not something I usually have an issue with.

Anniebach Sun 23-Aug-20 12:07:47

lavender thinking of you and sending hugs x

Joyce my favourite season is Spring, new beginnings, trees in leaf , and of course daffodils, I have never had my daffs bloom
in time for St.David’s Day, but I have David the daffodil on top
of my wardrobe so he is brought out. I dread winter, have such
fear of snow, and all the roads from this town crosses the mountains to get to places.

I had EMDR therapy last year for PTSD, my fear of snow was part of the PTSD, so I understand my fear of the stuff now.n

lavenderzen Sun 23-Aug-20 11:52:17

Good morning Annie Joyce and everyone.
Tippling down here and very dark and dismal.

Joce345 Sat 22-Aug-20 20:19:37

Evening all, welcome Lucyanne.

Lavender I have been very up and down, hopefully on the up and up now.. I do sometimes think they look at our age and well that’s all it takes..
I was rushed in hospital in December no beds, I was put on the dementia ward, I could not walk, was not washed for 3 days when I asked the nurse said she had asked me that morning and I had refused..
That really upset me, my daughter came up, the nurse could not apologised enough, no she thought I had dementia. Thank goodness people like her or far and few...
Don’t let them upset you...

Nonnie I have to have injections I go in our surgery for it...
hope you DH gets sorted.. physio by phone that’s interesting..

Annie been looking at some old photos today when we were on a camping holiday in Wales. My kids were very young it would be about 35 years ago, beautiful.

lavenderzen Sat 22-Aug-20 20:09:36

lavenderzen Sat 22-Aug-20 18:49:40

Hello everyone
I have missed so many pages of posts, I will try and catch up.
Annie how are you? I hope you are ok xx
Doodle I am glad to hear your son has managed to get some work. It's all such a worry.
Also Flutterby good to see you and all the other new friends on here.
Joyce you seem up and down I hope things start to improve for you.
I have had some down days, I have an awful lot going on at the moment but feel better today. My lovely granddaughter has just phoned, she is near the area that has gone into lockdown again so is more or less having to stay in. She seems to cope remarkable well, and just accepts things as they are. It's lovely to hear her voice and the laughter.
I had a phone call from the Surgery's Pharmacist yesterday (who knew - I didn't know we had one specifically attached to the Surgery!). She questioned me about the Vitamin D tablets I have been prescribed and talked to me like I was a three year old and couldn't count and kept asking me if I had taken the tablets prescribed - of course I have, it must be when they see my age they think I have forgotten to take them or not bothered! Anyway the end result was the dosage has been increased and they should have been at the Chemist today - needless to say they are not there! So that's something else to chase up on Monday.
I am glad it is a bit cooler, although the clouds are black today and it has never stopped raining.
I hope everyone has a peaceful evening and a good nights sleep. Take care, stay safe and lots of love to all xx

Anniebach Sat 22-Aug-20 17:37:16

ScaredyCat I think you are so right, charities which give
support for mental health problems have and are receiving
many more requests for help

nonnie a very positive post , good for you x

Jan another positive, so pleased you talked to your GP re
your medication and a holiday in the Yorkshire Dales, i enjoyed a lovely walking holiday there, some years ago ! Have
a great time and we will all be praying you have good weather x
