Hello , a new thread, welcome all x

I have been off line since this morning , and land line down !

Doodle Wed 19-Aug-20 21:47:51

annie thinking about you not having a chat with anyone for a while, have you thought about contacting Silverline. I believe they have people who phone to chat to people Living on their own. Is it worth considering?
Have a good night all x

Joce345 Wed 19-Aug-20 21:45:55

Aww Annie, I’m sorry that’s not good, yes there is may be more that are isolated like you , but that doesn’t help you.. wonder if there is any volunteers that maybe could just have a walk with you on Fred, you would be distancing.. there is people round our areas that are doing things like this to help...

Anniebach Wed 19-Aug-20 21:41:13

Thank you Doodle, Age Cymru will telephone, same with
Mind and the volenteer Bureau.

Social Services will assist with dressing and undressing and bathing. Help for someone to go out of their home isn’t
essential.

Things are not going to pick up soon my love, we all have to
accept this.

What hurts so much is having three sisters, their husbands and
nieces and nephews living in the same town. But best not to
dwell on that, we have been estranged for over three years.

I have to accept it.

Doodle Wed 19-Aug-20 21:07:33

annie I’m so sorry. That is such a disappointment. Maybe things will pick up soon. What about a seat on your patio at the front. Is it possible you can get one so you could sit outside for a while. Do social services or Age UK have anyone who can help perhaps.

Anniebach Wed 19-Aug-20 20:57:51

Upsetting day. The support I was offered to go out on Fred or a wheelchair is not available , the three local charities are not
going to open for a long time, they give support by telephone
but no more. So yet another set back, rather a big set back.

Feel down, have not had a face to face chat with an adult since
March, but I am blessed to have my younger granddaughter.

There are surely many even more isolated than I am.

Love the poem Annie thank you for sharing...?

BlueSky Wed 19-Aug-20 16:21:51

Well I only went to the Covid test centre and had it done as I was expecting it at the doctors yesterday! I don't expect to have it as I haven't been far apart from a couple of beer gardens and I don't meet anybody, it would be a surprise. I see that sickness and stomach trouble go hand in hand with antibiotics but as it's only for a few days see if I can manage it x

Anniebach Wed 19-Aug-20 14:13:39

BlueSky I do the same as the nurse devised Doodle contact your GP and tell him/her what you are taking now is
making you sick. Make a note of the one’s you are taking now
incase in the future they are prescribed again.

Doodle Wed 19-Aug-20 14:07:32

bluesky my DH has been on antibiotics recently that really upset his stomach and made him quite ill. He struggled on through 5 days worth. When he saw the nurse and told her. She said he should have asked the doctor for something else. He is now on a different antibiotic. Fingers crossed.

Thank you for sharing the poem with us annie. It’s a good one.
Take care all and keep safe x

BlueSky Wed 19-Aug-20 13:02:34

Annie sorry to hear you get the sickness with the antibiotics too. Do you keep taking them regardless? I know I should but it's hard to do, I've hardly ever taken them as I usually don't bother with the doctor it's just this Covid thing at the moment. brew

Anniebach Wed 19-Aug-20 10:32:30

In every walk you take
There will always be a bad day.
When tears kept flowing
From failures and disappointments,
From sufferings and broken heart,
It's okay; no worries.
Everyone finds it tough.
Even if living is hard,
You'll survive and you'll remember
How you've fought and not how it hurts.
Breathe in the laughter and cherish the tears,
For tomorrow may be the best day,
And today is only the beginning.
Just hang on and keep going.
Cry if you must, and whine you can't,
For every master is once a disaster,
So don't give up.
Be brave and believe,
For you are strong and you will fight.
Be the champion of yourself,
For you deserve nothing but the best.
Start living today and leave the past behind.
Say goodbye to sorrowful tears.
Keep going without hesitation.
You'll pull it off, just wait and see.
One more time, one more try.
You'll see the light.
Wake up, stand up, and live life!

Yes I have been reading poetry again, thought you may like this x

Hi all x

Jayt I am concerned that you said you only feel safe at home, do you go to your childrens homes and if so do you
feel safe there ?

BlueSky thank you for the update, so glad your tight chest
has gone, as for antibiotics , my sympathy , I have sickness when I have had to take them x

BlueSky Wed 19-Aug-20 08:46:23

Morning all. Sorry if I bother you with a bulletin of my ailments. Tight chest gone to be replaced by sickness I believe after taking the antibiotics! So between the devil and the deep blue sea. Trying tea and toast. Hope you'll all have a peaceful day x

Jayt Tue 18-Aug-20 23:54:41

Anniebach, thank you. I will discuss the medication with my doctor the next time I see her and won't come off it without her say so. The bullying boss left me feeling useless, stupid and worthless and I never worked for her again. It took a long time to get over that but I did and I know things will improve again. Good night everyone.

Doodle Tue 18-Aug-20 22:06:12

That’s sad annie. I hadn’t thought about that before. Human contact is a basic need for all of us.
Glad you had a good day with the tornado. Has your DGD been cleaning?
Everyone, I hope you sleep peacefully tonight and wake brighter tomorrow x

Anniebach Tue 18-Aug-20 21:55:40

Joyce a lovely day, I admit come evening a feel down, I don’t
like going to bed every night , I miss the phone call ‘good night, love you’ . Haven’t heard a human voice at night for well over 2 years , strange feeling, as if I am alone in the world.

Hope you will start to get past the Black Dog, you have done it
and will do it again x

Joce345 Tue 18-Aug-20 20:24:49

Annie how right you are I totally agree with you..

How has your day been with your tornado.. hope you have enjoyed every minute of her being with you Annie... ??

BlueSky Tue 18-Aug-20 19:22:03

Thanks Scaredycat and Joce, health anxiety is a nasty beast. This Covid was the final straw! Hope you'll all have a peaceful night x

Anniebach Tue 18-Aug-20 18:57:02

Office of National Statistics

Before the virus 1 in 10 suffered with depression

Now 1 in 5 suffer with depression

1 in 10 before the virus , if we compare depression or anxiety
with a broken arm encased in plaster , 1 in 10 walking around
with a broken arm ?

With a broken arm we wouldn’t say ‘I’m sorry ‘ when speaking
of the pain, we wouldn’t say ‘I don’t want to tell my family or
friends’. People would see our arm in plaster and sympathise,
Yet depression and anxiety are still a ‘don’t talk about it ‘ yet
they cause such emotional pain.

Agree ?

Doodle Tue 18-Aug-20 14:40:33

Well all of us with our haircuts would make the scales lighter ?. scardeycat try and keep positive. You too joce. We are all here for each other.

Doodle Tue 18-Aug-20 14:36:40

Joce345 Tue 18-Aug-20 14:11:50

BlueSky Glad you went to you GP.
Scaredycat dam heath anxiety I am a complete mess today..
I stoped googling long time ago it definitely does make every thing a lot lot worse

I hope everyone has a peaceful day I am trying so so hard errrrr.

Anniebach Tue 18-Aug-20 12:41:02

Hi Scaredycat yes the virus is certainly making life difficult,
raising stress levels in so many.

I had my haircut two weeks ago - by granddaughter !

Scaredycat Tue 18-Aug-20 12:36:36

Good morning everybody and welcome to Jan and Jayt from another new member. So pleased Bluesky that your Doctor was able to help and that your breathing is eased. Health anxiety takes over so often and Dr Google stokes the fire. It’s so hard to get a worry out of your mind isn,t it and with the constant worry about Covid it makes it more difficult. A sympathetic GP is a blessing.
Doodle I too have had a haircut last week and agree that your head feels so much lighter and doing something normal feels wonderful even though you are shaking and youwalk in to the salon on jelly legs!!
Hope you enjoy your GD visit today Annie - she sounds a lovely lively girl.
Wishing you all a better day and thinking of you

Anniebach Tue 18-Aug-20 12:36:04

lavender I will go off topics and share this about my mini tornado.

When she was here two weeks ago her elder sister came with her for a hair appointment, she came to my house after, my mini tornado was vacuuming, she said to her sister ‘mask on’ , sister said I have ,I am desperate for the loo, mini tornado replied ‘wash your hands’, sister - ‘I always do when I’ve been to the loo bossy’, mini tornado replied ‘wash your hands before you even touch granny’s loo or anything in her house’ .
