(1001 Posts)Hello , a new thread, welcome all x
I have been off line since this morning , and land line down !
Sorry i haven’t been on the thread since this morning, been
viewing properties and am so tired, a GP, family friend phoned me, he had been talking to my brother , he thinks I
have mental exhaustion again , said he had warned me several
times in the past .
Chrissy it will pass , don’t worry about not talking here, just
pop on and say ‘hello’ . X
Doodle ok my love ? X
Annie have you been overdoing things do you think? I know you’ve been searching for the puppy and now houses. Hope you are ok. x
Morning all hope everyone has a good positive day.. x
Morning everyone, still feel bad. I can’t put my finger on what’s wrong, not sure if it’s something physical causing my very low mood or my mood is making me feel physically unwell. I was really cold yesterday and felt achey. I do have my dentist appointment on Monday and I’m a bit worried because of the bad taste in my mouth and my gums feel a bit tender. After reading my posts since I joined I’m sure you can guess where I’m going with this. I didn’t think I was overly worried but I don’t know.
I hope everyone has a good day. I’ll reply to posts later x
Hi all x
Chrissy you spoke of your concerns about the dentist, it could be your health anxiety is working at full speed.
When I had the bowel problem last week, the agoraphobia
certainly went at full speed, didn’t bother me what could be
the cause, it was the fact I may have had to go 20 miles for
treatment, this is how phobias work my love. X
Joyce how are you ? X
Doodle yes , overdoing things, as you said, looking at houses, finding a puppy, I didn’t just look for a puppy, because
I worked with the Dogs Trust and a Newspaper some years ago
to hunt out puppy farms what I saw still haunts me, so I check
and check, think I could be branded obsessive when it come to
breeding puppies, I don’t just ask a few questions I turn it into
an interrogation . And now the news of the universities ! X
Good morning to all
Lucyanne you have been through it - you are a brave lady. Yes proportions are difficult aren,t they- my heads aren,t always the right size but bums are ok!!!
Lavender I just phoned my surgery about flu jab and have to ring next week when stocks are replenished and we would get an appointment. Good job I rang as the last info we got was not to contact them they would contact us!! Hope it didn,t rain too hard it was like a monsoon here.
Nonnie it’s a nice idea to wear nice clothes some days. I must admit though that the Bag Lady look is so comfortable . I have been wearing some ‘holiday’ clothes on nice days as it doesn,t seem a lot of point saving them - so miss holidays?
Blue Sky a good sleep is such a treat especially if you don’t have the dreaded early morning wake up.
Hi Nannabird what a shock for you even though you had your suspicions. It’s so hard to tell your family bad news as well. I hope you have good news re another buyer soon.
Granny Somerset your advice sounds very good and comes from experience.
Annie - good morning to you. You have worn yourself out with everything that is on your mind. See if you can have a rest today and hope you feel better soon. X
Chrissie it is a viscious circle . Yesterday was very cold and that always makes me feel shivery. Thinking of the dentist will be making you more aware of your mouth - think how good you will feel when you have got the appointment over with.
Hope today brings something good for everyone. I,m waiting for the Tesco’s delivery which always gets me in a Tizz - but so grateful for it. Xx
Morning all. Annie and other fellow worriers I think at some point we have to switch off or we’ll make ourselves physically ill and then we won’t be of use to anybody, in fact we’ll create more worry for others.
Beautiful day even if cold, autumn is on its way but have we had a spring and summer? I didn’t notice thanks to Covid!
Have a good day x
Must tell you, I said earlier this week the nearest physiotherapy dept available was 35 miles away now, well that
town has gone into lockdown, !
BlueSky yes, anxiety causes insomnia, definitely.
nanabird if you are new to the BDG welcome. I hope your sale does go through and that you find a suitable place to live. I don't have any really direct experience of PD but when a dear lady had it I did think her husband was in denial and could have made things easier for her had he not been. As it becomes necessary please get all the aids you need. I have read that dancing is really good, especially in a group. Stay on here and talk to us all, we are a good bunch.
Chrissey I think we have all had days like that, we understand. Perhaps you are subconsciously already worrying about the dentist. Can you write down all that is worrying you so you don't forget something when there?
Doodle keep up the good walks, I'm trying to.
Been for a brisk walk into town, met some neighbours on the way and had a brief chat, they had just done a 6K run! Smiled and said 'hello' to a few people, stocked up on hair dye just in case
and a shop assistant ran after me to tell me my shoe lace was undone. Now sitting at my desk looking out at all the different colours in the garden and beyond. All I needed to make the walk better was a toddler to look at the conkers, acorns and prickly things with me. Going out like this is a good way to take my mind off the things I don't want to think about.
Annie I imagine if you can't do physical things you would get mentally exhausted.
Afternoon everyone, I think the dental appointment is worrying me more than I realised. Just had a call to say that the hygienist is off sick so will just be having my check-up. It’s a new dentist so I’m anxious. Had to answer a load of questions so ticked yes next to tender gums, dry mouth and bad taste.
BlueSky I love spring and summer so feel that they didn’t really happen this year. I understand what you’re saying about needing to switch off but it’s managing to do it that’s the problem.
nanabird I’m so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I hope you can find people who understand to talk to even if it has to be online.
Annie I’ve read about puppy farms and seen things on TV. I can understand how upsetting it must have been to see it with your own eyes.
Hope everyone else is ok x
‘I have had a lot of worries in my life, most of which never
happened ‘.
Mark Twain
Chrissy you are right about being able to switch off from whatever is bothering us, at times I’ve done it out of sheer exhaustion.
Great words from Mark Twain Annie and so true!
That’s a very thought provoking quote Annie, I hadn’t seen that one before.
Sleep well everyone x
Good night all x
Chrissy there are a few people I’ve heard of recently who have gone down with a cold. It could be that. You are bound to feel a bit low if you are unwell. Try not to worry about the dentist. I’m sure all will be well.
Annie anyone who loves dogs or any animals would be appalled by the condition some puppies are bred in. You did well to find a good one for your DGD. I thought of you straight away when I heard the news of the lockdowns in Wales. Are you or your DGD in the areas where the lockdown is being imposed? ( just read your second post about the physio place being in lockdown ?)
Scaredycat hope your delivery went ok. I have heard there are some shortages in shops again as people have started panic buying again. Hope you are ok.
Bluesky It is difficult to cut off sometimes. My tinnitus usually keeps me awake when it’s really noisy. Last night I had to focus on counting for a while just to take my mind off the high pitch whistling long enough to make it settle.
Nonnie going out and noticing nature around you is a good way to relax a bit.
I love that quote from Mark Twain too Annie
Sleep well all x
Lavender hope you are ok. Sleep tight ??
Wishing everyone a peaceful evening and a good nights sleep.
Not been very well since the flu jab, horrendous RA pain in the middle of the night, which went on all day yesterday and I couldn't use my hands. Bit better today.
See you all after the weekend.
Take care stay safe and love to all xx
Annie im not good but not bad so that’s a positive in my book..
sounds like you need some rest Annie take care.. x
There is a TV programme on Monday about a welch village Annie... mountains all round looks lovely...
Chrissy our minds are very powerful I have been worrying al day I know it’s my head playing tricks on me. You will be fine at the dentist I’m sure..
Nanabird sorry to hear your news. My lovely father in-law had PD for many years he was part of a support group it’s was so good for him and his wife they both really enjoyed going.. I think the key is the medication once you get it right and stick to it it help tremendously it did for my father in law.. has Nonnie says dancing they enjoyed it very much...
Doodle how are you ?
Hope everyone else are ok sending hugs...
Good night all have a peaceful night sleep xx?
Doodle my mini tornado will be in lockdown 6.00pm Sunday , she is coming to see me earlier in the day. The university opens Monday so Cardiff will be in lockdown for quite a while. x
Lavender so sorry you are in pain, I will pray it clears soon x
To all, the quote by Mark Twain is so true, if we sat and made a
list of things which worried us in our past it would be a very
long list with very few ticked as - true.
So true Annie. Sorry about your mini tornado that’s sad..
it’s such a worrying time for everyone...
there is kids from school all round us being sent home they have it in them all...
Joce hope you are ok and whatever it is that you are worried about sorts itself out soon.
That’s interesting about the Welsh Village do you know what channel that programme is on?
Lavender sorry you’re not feeling too good. We are off for our flu jabs today.
Annie I am glad your mini tornado is coming early on Sunday. I do hope the lockdown doesn’t go on for long. Will your DGD be going to uni or will she be studying online?
Have a good day all x
Chrissy don't feel bad if you can't 'switch off', I don't think we can control our thoughts very much unless we find something else to think about which is not that easy at times.
Annie lucky MT! Most of mine did and only worried me afterwards. Lots of things I could never have anticipated. I have always tried to think positively but it has become a challenge
Doodle the cynic in me thinks that any shortages are due to the supermarkets telling us they are restricting what we can buy!
Lavender sorry you reacted to the vaccination, I've been fine but DH has had a sore shoulder for a week which he put down to his.
Joce that's a positive way to look at it 'glass half full'
Today I am wearing my summer jeans in a last ditch attempt to ignore the weather.
“What I like doing best is Nothing,” said Christopher Robin. “It’s when people call out to you, ‘What are you going to do?’ and you say ‘Oh, Nothing,’ and then you go and do it. It means just going along, listening to all the things you can’t hear, and not bothering.” ~A.A.Milne
No, I didn't look it up, took it from Twitter.
Hi all x
How is everyone ?
nonnie. I am so sorry , I can’t even imagine what my life would be like if most of my past worries had come true.
Joyce I didn’t know there was to be programme about a Welsh village , will look out for it x
