Scaredycat your husband and son , a living nightmare , there
are no words x
I had a telephone appointment with a physiotherapist , useless.
I am shocked that some surgeries are closed to all their
patients.

Hi all. Scaredycat good god I didn’t know your first husband and son were killed in a car crash! How much grief can anyone endure? As I was saying how can I complain that my sons and family live overseas? This pales compared to what so many of you have been through! You are right I’m the same regarding being ill when away from home, last time we went abroad I was indeed poorly and had to cut our holiday short, all I wanted to do was getting home. I guess that’s why I’m now reluctant to go away, even before Covid, at the most I’ll go in the UK, at least you can be taken to the local NSH hospital!
Have a pleasant evening all x
Typo NSH should be our good old NHS! [m
Home at last. What a lovely word that is.
DH seems fine but I’m keeping an eye on him as he can go downhill quickly.
Joce sorry to hear about the loss of your long time friend, that must have been a shock for you,
Annie So glad your MT is studying at home. Safer by far but as you say needs effort and determination.
scaredycat I had no idea you lost your DH and son in an accident. That must be so hard to come to terms with. I’m so sorry.
Thinking of you all but tired out tonight, so early night for me.
chrissy lavender nonnie nanny lucyanne begentle and Bluesky and anyone I might have missed, sleep well and keep safe. Take care all x
Evening everyone
Doodle I hope your DH continues to get better. It’s a shame that you had to cut your holiday short but I would want to be at home as well. You’re right, so much sadness in people’s lives. We should think ourselves lucky for what we have but sometimes it’s so hard.
BlueSky I presume that our surgery is seeing people face to face in emergencies. I was surprised that they didn’t want to see my DH when he had breathing difficulties, rather than just leaving a prescription with the pharmacy.
Annie Sorry your mini tornado isn’t visiting this week.
Nonnie Yes COVID must be awful for blind people as they can’t touch others which is what they rely on.
Scaredycat you have been through some truly awful times but you still support others. It makes me think about my own worries and concerns and understand that there are people who have been through so much worse.
Hope everyone else has had a good day. Sleep well x
Doodle Glad you’re safely home. I’m sure you both need a good night’s sleep x
Doodle so pleased you are HOME save.. have a good night sleep...
hope everyone has a peaceful night sleep ?
Morning all
Hope everyone has a good day. I’m in the waiting for the mail to arrive and is my mammogram results letter there phase. Stupid really as I only had it done on Thursday.
Take care x
Morning all x
Chrissy as I’ve mentioned please don’t be alarmed if you see THAT envelope as I’ve had early results a couple of times and you are going to think it’s bad news! My ultrasound should be with the GP in about a week but I haven’t given it a second thought.
Grey day but dry which is most important for our walk in the park. DH is getting fed up doing the same things every day, I don’t mind as I like routine.
Have a good day all x

BlueSky I think nowadays a lot of other health services are better than the NHS! I hear from British friends in Portugal how great it is and I had wonderful treatment in Dubai. I love your choice of name, sounds as if you are a positive thinker.
Scardycat so very hard to lose loved ones suddenly and unexpectedly, we move on but never recover.
Doodle must be such a relief to be home.
Chrissy just to let you know I once had a recall from mine and it put me into panic mode. There was nothing wrong, think the operator didn't do a good job. Please remember this if you do get a recall.
Been out for a walk among the lovely crisp autumn leaves, just wish I could have had a grandchild with me to kick them up.
Had a delivery from Boots, to say it was securely wrapped would be an understatement. It made me realise how hard it must be for those with arthritis to open packages. Postman and I had a little chat about the pandemic and both were grateful for our own situations at this time.
Hi all x
nonnie I too had a recall, all was well. Yes unpacking parcels
is so difficult with arthritis, I only have use of thumb and forefinger on both hands .
BlueSky enjoy your walk, walking is so important for depression, anxiety etc x
Wales going into lockdown for two weeks this Friday, apart from my mini tornado not be able to visit I will not see any
different since the lockdown which started in March, no
physiotherapy, no home visit for new specs, can’t go to
Optician because no one to take me.
Doodle sending love and hugs x
Thank you all for your kind wishes. It is good to be home.
Chrissy did the hospital say when they would post your results?
Bluesky and Nonnie and Annie how kind of you to think about letting Chrissy know that she mustn’t worry about getting the results soon or a recall. They are both things that could cause panic. Nice to know it may just be a technical error.
Bluesky Hope you have a nice walk today. It does us good to see the trees and flowers, just wish I could capture that and send it to annie
Nonnie kicking up the leaves and crunching them underfoot is something I love too. Autumn is my favourite time of year. I love the colours and the leaves and the smell of ‘November’.
Annie I read about the new Wales lockdown. I hope it works to stop the virus creeping up. Hope your MT stays safe. She isn’t at campus is she? I think you said she was studying online, does that mean she is at home?
Hope all have a good day.
Good afternoon.
Doodle - it must feel so good to be home. It really is the best place even though we are having to spend a bit too much time there at the moment. Hope your DH continues to feel better. Enjoy these lovely Autumn days.
Chrissy - hope you get your results soon. I,m not very good at waiting for stuff in the post and then when I get it I,m scared to open it!!
Bluesky- hope by the time you went out the sun was shining. It started off a bit dull here but we,ve just got back from our walk and it was lovely and bright. The trees are taking their time changing their colour this year.
Nonnie- you should have kicked the leaves anyway- it’s one of life’s pleasures!!! I love the scrunchy noise they make when you walk through them. You,re right about parcels it must be so difficult to open them with arthritis my hands are ok but I still have a fight opening most things.
Annie - wish I could take you to th3 opticians - can,t believe they cannot come to you. Facing another lockdown must be hard but hopefully it will help to slow down the virus. Take care.
Have a nice evening all x
BlueSky I know and I promised myself that I wasn’t going to panic about it this time. I’m trying to keep busy but my mind keeps going back to the results letter. I suppose it’s hard to change my learnt behaviour. I’m glad that you’re not concerned about your ultrasound results and hope that all will be ok. Hope you enjoyed your walk today.
Nonnie I’ll try not to panic if I get a recall. Glad you had a nice walk this morning.
Annie Sorry to hear that Wales is going into a second lockdown and your mini tornado won’t be able to visit. Can you talk to her on Zoom or Skype?
Doodle Glad you’re home safe, I hope your DH is feeling better. They said around 3 weeks for my results. Somebody told me once that they send out the letters where the mammogram had abnormalities first and the all clear letters were sent out afterwards. I don’t know how true that is. I am grateful for others on here telling me that, if I get a recall letter, it doesn’t mean that it’s bad news.
Scaredycat I’m the same, I’m scared to open letters that could hold bad news but, if the news isn’t bad, the relief is immense. Sounds like you had a lovely walk as well.
Me and DH have been for a long walk along the seafront this morning, it was lovely and sunny.
Hope everyone is having a good afternoon x
Mini tornado FaceTimed earlier today, she is coming up on
Thursday, seems it is an essential visit ! Lockdown starts
Friday.
It makes very little difference to me than it did in the first lockdown. Local charities will only make contact by telephone,
MIND centre , the volunteer Bureau, Age Cymru been closed since March,
Even the Warden employed by the council to visit residents in
sheltered accommodation hasn’t visited anyone since March,
she telephones residents once a week .
One problem, most of South Wales been in lockdown for several weeks, our nearest Tesco has no free delivery dates until November and when this lockdown starts heaven knows
when there will be any free dates.
It has to be accepted, no use ranting about it ?
Hello everyone
Hope everyone has a peaceful evening and a good nights sleep. Take care, stay safe, love to all xx
Glad to hear MT is coming along to see you Annie xx
Evening all x
Nonnie I’m sure some other countries have better medical facilities than the UK and that’s what my DH reminds me if I fuss about going abroad in case we are taken ill over there, (pre Covid of course). But I would hate being ill and away from home, bad enough being in hospital over here.
Annie how do you manage with your groceries? Have you registered with any of them as you should get priority deliveries. I always shop on line and it’s a great help.
Goodnight all and sweet dreams x
Evening all
Annie I’m glad that your mini tornado is visiting on Thursday. It’s good that you can FaceTime her although I know it’s not as good as face to face meetings.
Hope everyone else is doing ok. Sleep well x
Chrissy it’s good that others have advised you not to worry about a recall if you get one, technical glitches happen all the time. I can understand you worrying about the post coming but once you’ve opened the mail, put it out of your mind till the following day and try and get some relief from the worry. Good to have a nice walk on the seafront. Blow all the cobwebs away (as my mum would say) and enjoy the sea air.
Scaredycat it is indeed good to be home. Good you had a nice walk too. How are you about sleeping at night? I find a good walk every day helps.
annie I thought your little tornado would find a way to visit somehow. I think you are essential too ?
lavender are you keeping ok? Nice of you to pop in and wish everyone a good night. ?
Bluesky it is certainly easier to go to a local hospital from home than going to one you don’t know miles away. I know our local hospitals well but trying to find my way to Poole from where we were staying was beyond me. I went by taxi ?
Popped in to say a quick hello. I have been bit anxious about family and then my health anxiety has been kicking in at times so I apologise for not being in touch.
Annie I am so glad your MT will be visiting. I bet you just love that girl so much.
Doodle sorry to hear your DH been poorly but glad to hear you are both home.
As Doodle has said there are so many going through worrying times at the moment and I am sorry to say I have not totally caught up with all the posts.
My one positive is I had a family visit in the garden. Social distance, warm clothes and hot soup supplied. I was so grateful for that visit as I know there are lots of people on their own for various reasons.
I will say goodnight and God Bless to all you lovely people.
x
BlueSky I don’t have to worry about groceries, I have liquid meal replacement, I can buy Rice Cakes, my only solid from
Holland and Barrett .
Other shopping needed , my son in law who isn’t and his wife
will get for me.
Yes it’s an usual relationship, he was married to my younger
daughter, they divorced and both remarried. He first came to my home when he was 17, he became the son I never had, I refuse to say my ex son in law, so he is my son in law who isn’t,
I am not his ex mother in law, he calls me - my adopted mother who isn’t, I am so blessed that his wife accepts the close relationship, she does shopping for me too.
flutterby hello and hugs , so sorry you are troubled, we are
here for you x
Annie that sounds such a lovely relationship. He sounds a very nice chap and you obviously took to each other.
I eat rice cakes too. Not the most appetising thing in the world but filling. Hope you sleep well.
flutterby it’s family worries and health anxiety for most of us on this thread I think. I hope there isn’t anything too stressing going on. Pop in whenever you feel like it. You know you are always welcome.
Morning all, it’s very dull and damp hear this morning.
Hopefully the sun is shining for you all today have a pleasant peaceful day all ?
Morning everyone
Doodle hope your DH is feeling better.
Flutterby How lovely that you had a family meeting in the garden.
Annie I’m glad that your SIL who isn’t and his wife will get anything you need for the shop.
