Interesting that Lily’s Kitchen nighttime biscuits, which we always give to our puppies to help them to sleep, have the same ingredients as the tea.

The secret to a good nights sleep....
(235 Posts)For about 10 years a good nights sleep has been a rare pleasure.
I’ve tried OTC tablets, meditation, diet and pillow sprays with varying results.
Finally I think I’ve found the solution in a tea bag!
It’s a well known organic brand that has a night time tea.
I’m sleeping like a log.....just hoping it lasts.
Has anyone else discovered this little bag of magic?
The tea didn’t work for me. Tried for 3 nights. Have now bought new pillows and listened to ‘music to induce sleep’ on my iPad. First great night’s sleep I’ve had in months.
But, yes, as someone mentioned the word Valarian. My husband has not risked the Pukka teabag due to him being on blood thinners + other medication after 2 heart procedures this last year. Guess, anyone could always email the firm to ask on any medical issue questions ?
HannahLoisLuke yes, I'm a big fan of Yorkshire Tea Biscuit Brew.
YT also do a Sleep tea. It's not to be confused with the herbal stuff discussed on here. It's 'normal' decaff tea with a more 'warming' flavour.
Hard for me to describe, sorry, but it is nice.
Yes I use the Pukka night time - it seems to help
Yes, I bought the Pukka nightime teabags from H+B the other year as it was on a buy one, get 2nd half price and gave that one to my son who works various shifts. As he was finding it hard getting to sleep during the day as well with the noises outside. Also by luck in my small local co-op last Friday saw a new one out by Twinnings called CALM on at half price so bought that one for my daughter who is studying + doing exam for her insurance job and getting stressed.

'Sadly girls, (it's) not a miracle cure'
But it does appear to work for several posters. I pride myself as Big Chief Skeptic on this thread, but as MFL said, there's not a lot to lose.
I think that it's efficacy will depend upon whether or not one is sensitive to valarian in particular.
I ordered these tea bags when they were mentioned on the original thread about a week ago. They arrived yesterday and I had my first cup last night about an hour before bed. I’d also had a lovely warm bath so was looking forward to a decent night’s sleep. Sadly it wasn’t to be and I found myself awake at 2.15am. I must have drifted off again but woke again around 6. No big deal, it’s Sunday and I’m retired anyway so I didn’t have to jump out of bed and do a days work. I am a bit disappointed though but will continue with my bedtime cuppa and hope that it will eventually work. It does have a lovely lavender scent and is the only herbal tea I can drink without pouring most of it down the sink.
Still on tea, but not sleep inducing, has anyone tried Yorkshire Tea’s Biscuit Tea? I was on an online WW meeting to get my blood sugar under control and they were singing the praises of this biscuit flavoured tea which they said gives you the pleasure of having a biscuit with your tea without having the biscuit. I ordered a pack with my grocery order ( I do fall for this stuff!) and actually, it does taste rather like a malted biscuit. I quite enjoyed it even though I rarely eat biscuits.
Interested to hear what others think.
Regarding the tea strength. I think it is best to just leave it in and try to drink around it! Not very elegant but definitely intensifies in taste as the time passes. ?
Sadly girls Pukka NT us not a miracle cure; I’ve been having it for years.
So many other things affect our sleep. Probably the main one is a brain that won’t turn off ! Too much stuff whirring around, screen time for too long in the evening, not enough proper exercise, eating too late, being too hot or too cold, hormones...need I go on? ??♀️
Hi. I’m new to this group but thought you might like to hear about a tea I’ve tried. It’s Celestial Seasonings Sleeptime teabags. There is the normal sleepytime and sleepytime extra. Both these can be found on EBay or Amazon. Shop around for cheaper prices.
I have had various night time teas and definitely think they work . I bought my daughter a latte from a will know organic herbal label which is very very good. Another friend has started to body brush every evening and swears by that. I recently had a good 4 / 5 nights of bad sleep and I felt quite low. I take my sleep very seriously.
Any other recommendations would be gratefully received.
Thank you Sashabel you've just answered my question. I'll try that.
I bought the Pukka Night Time teas for DH and we both tried them for the first time last night. He was not impressed with the taste, though I would say it had very little flavour really but it did smell nice. We drank them about 10pm and went to bed at 12.30. I did feel more relaxed settling down to sleep but then had to get up about 4.30-ish for the loo because I'd drunk the tea! I then fell into a deep sleep and didn't wake up till 10.30! DH still got up twice in the night as he usually does. If I can't sleep well it's usually because I'm mulling over ideas and plans and my mind just keeps 'thinking', not because I'm worrying about something. I find it very difficult to make my mind go blank. We'll persevere with the Pukka teas and see what happens, well I will anyway.
Has anybody tried two Pukka bags in a mug for a stronger flavour?
Fantastic so pleased this has had a positive outcome for some of you.
To the doubters..... what harm could it do? ?
After reading this thread, I ordered a box of Pukka Night Time tea bags from Tesco's. I have had huge problems with sleep for a number of years which have increased since lockdown and I was not very hopeful that my insomnia would be helped by a mere tea bag. How wrong I was. The first night I used just one tea bag and didn't notice much of an improvement, but since then I have made a cuppa using 2 bags (and a little sugar to improve the taste) and I've been sleeping like a log. I was getting a bit worried about being so reliant on sleeping pills, so I am really pleased that I can now leave them in the cupboard and I will continue with the tea. Thanks to Missfoodlove for bringing these tea bags to my attention
It certainly is magic. Bought some yesterday, put it on my bedside table and fell asleep before I could drink it. Had my first good sleep in years!

I’ve just started using Bach Flower Remedies (Rescue Night) and it’s working for me. No nasty hangover feeling the next day either
I've used this in the past, and curiously, it does seem to work.
I find it particularly beneficial when you have lots of intrusive thoughts going round and round and round.
I say 'curiously' as I'm usually in favour of the hard stuff - last night it was Nightnurse and a codeine
I drink golden milk, turmeric, black pepper, honey and, of course, milk.
Failing that CBD capsules.

My goodness! If only it was that simple.
A watery teabag can actually get you of to sleep.
I don’t think so. Well not for me anyway.
Is this the same thread about sleep problems last week?
Steady on!
I said similar upthread and it didn't go down too well.
(I did apologise for being a grump - the lack of sleep gets you like that.)
This is the first thread - LadyHonoriaDedlock has since started another one.
Thanks so much for the advice- having dreadful broken sleep for weeks with worries over DD & DGDs moving to France to live in July. Just ordered on Sainsburys, on offer at £2 50 too so a bargan! Sweet slumbers to you all! Zzzzzz

After many years of sleeping badly I have found the solution that works for me. Hydration. Whenever I’ve had a long walk and not drunk enough water I sleep badly. If I can’t sleep now it is almost always because I need more water. I’ve told several friends and family members and they have all said their sleep has improved. It may mean a trip to the bathroom during the night but that is better than lying awake watching the clock.
I’ve also found night time tea bags very helpful. However some people are sensitive to valerian and find it gives them nightmares. I had to change brands for this reason. I hope this helps.
I bought some yesterday, I found the taste truly horrible and struggled to get it down, made me feel queasy BUT I did have a good night's sleep!!! To be fair I could have been due a good night after a few really bad ones but I am certainly going to persevere just in case.
