I have been looking at the postings above and wanted to share my experience of chronic pain. I have a history of back problems and had a sudden attack of acute back pain in April 2020. After doing exercises thankfully it went away after about 4 months.
Then about a year later the pain started to creep back in and by November 2021 I was desperate as the pain was getting worse and I couldn’t sit for more than a few minutes and walking was painful. My chiropractor kept telling me it was my brain and nervous system creating this pain but couldn’t give me guidance of how to stop my brain from doing this. I had an MRI scan which showed some arthritis, slight bulging discs, inflammation and some degeneration.
Then by chance I came across a book called The Way Out by Alan Gordon. I bought both the book and the audio version and found the book life changing.
I had already realised that the pain although very real was ‘all in my mind’ so didn’t need convincing but decided to try Somatic tracking as described in the book. I couldn’t believe that my pain started to ease after only 2 weeks and I’m now pain free. There are stories in the book about people who have had all types of chronic pain - migraines etc for many years and have had success with this approach.
I know it sounds too good to be true and some people look at me as if I’ve gone potty but it worked me for when nothing else did.
I hope it will for some of you on here too.
Is it me or am I getting mixed messages
