Is there one rule for us and one for them?
How can he say, with a straight face that he is not isolating?
I can imagine people up and down the land choking on their breakfast. The audacity! This could lead to real social unrest.
He could pass this on to anyone who works at No10. Has he no common sense or decency?
I cannot believe when I read that he is so popular. Why?

Vaccine doesn't kill it or stop you getting it , but gives high level of protection from the antibodies it gives us, enabling us to only get either mild or no symptoms.hope this reassures? x
Why does none of this ring alarm bells in any of you? The govt has always done what they want while getting everyone else to jump through hoops. Can you not see how they're watching how compliant and easily manipulated everyone is. You've all taken two jabs and you still can catch it, pass it on and have to isolate or wear masks when they say so. W A K E U P!
Boris Johnson hasn't got Covid. He was pinged because he was in contact with someone who has.

And this is different….?

It sort of proves the argument that isolating after double tap is unlikely to be necessary. The pass-on rate is so very low from vaccinated bods to other vaccinated bods .that's why it's so very important for everyone who is able to get vaccinated
Since a doubly vaccinated friend of mine recently caught covid I feel a lot less relaxed about the dangers. For this to have happenened just before 'Freedom Day' should be a lesson to us all. The virus is still around and we all need to act responsibly. The rules about isolating should be the same for everyone. There is talk of daily testing etc being available to prevent the necessity of isolation for those whose jobs are in essential services but since Boris and Rishi can work from home I don't think they should qualify. I'm not sure how I feel about having dealings with essential workers who do qualify though.
Meanwhile many companies are suffering staff shortages as a result of people having to isolate. As more things open up this is likely to increase so I'm guessing the rules will change again to prevent empty shelves in supermarkets and the NHS becoming overwhelmed as all the lorry drivers and NHS staff are forced to self isolate to name just two examples. It's no longer just a pandemic but a 'pingdemic'!
I certainly won't be relaxing too much yet. I don't have the app as my phone is too old to support it, so I won't be pinged, but I shall still isolate if I think it necessary if anyone I've seen tests positive, even if the contact was brief. I couldn't live with myself if I thought I was responsible for giving it to someone!
Boris Johnston does not have COVID, he has been in contact with Savid, and he is self-isolating.
Wherever he is he obviously forgot to take his hairbrush with him….
How many times are people going to say Boris has not got Covid….
We KNOW he hasn’t but he has been in contact with someone who has….probably Sajid.
This is about the fact he and Sunak originally decided not to self isolate like the rest of us have to before making a screeching u turn when there was such a backlash.
Like the Cummings fiasco and the hapless Hancock…..which has already been mentioned.
I can’t believe there are people who think his behaviour has been acceptable.
farawaygran can you ask HQ to change the title you are passing on rubbish information Johnson hasn’t got CoviD
Of course he should be isolating he’s been with those who do have it
…..but the title IS MISLEADING to say the least
I’m another who voted Tory but will never again. Mind you we have nothing decent to put in their place. I think Guy Fawks had the best idea, blow it up and start again.
Why cant politicians keep to the rules they make. It’s distressing if we can get Covid after being vaccinated that is a worry I hope the anti vacc people don’t hear this. Does anyone know how the immunity lasts after double vaccination I had my second jab in April I hope I don’t need another one soon. It looks as though we are going to have to live with COVID for ever! I am loosing my optimism!
They now keep changing their story as to when Johnson travelled to Checkers (sp)….
First of all Faraway Gran BORIS has not got Covid ! And secondly he is isolating and Chequers !
Boris does not have Covid this time round. He is a contact of the health secretary who has tested positive.Cant blame him for everything

I’m not sure you can get covid twice. Otherwise we’re doomed.
Yes, you can, unfortunately, even if you have been double-jabbed. You should not become too ill, though if you’re among the 20% for whom the vaccines don’t work, you might. But you can still get it, and still pass it on. Thus, caution is required
Joesoap, it isn’t yet clear how long immunity will last after the double vaccination which is why there is talk of possibly having an Autumn booster. However the scientists are hopeful that immunity will be good for longer than that. This is a new virus, a novel virus, and we have to learn as we go along. We may need a Covid vaccine every year like we do flu. The main thing to remember is that after double vaccination you are far, far less likely to either contract or transmit the virus. If you are unlucky enough to contract the virus after double vaccination, you are very unlikely to become very ill, but you may have some minor symptoms. A very few people, who are doubly vaccinated, and who have other comorbidities may become more ill and require hospitalisation. For the vast majority of us, our vaccinations have cut the link between infection and either hospitalisation or death.
This is EXACTLY why we are still in this unholy mess.
Boris has not GOT covid, he was pinged on Track and Trace, after coming into contact with his henchman, the new health minister, who hasn't got it either.
For heaven's sake, even if he had it 'again' (if he had it in the first place, doubtful), it would be a CASE, not a death.
This 'virus' has a recovery rate of over 99%, we didn't shut the country down in previous years, when people were dying in their thousands every year from seasonal flu. And they did.
Nobody will research though, nobody will contact their local uk.gov site and ask the questions, how many deaths have occurred FROM Covid within a certain time frame, and more importantly, their age range, nobody will ask for freedom of information, about how many cremations, and/or funerals took place in their local area from say March 2020-March 2021, if you did, you would probably find that the figures are within average, year on year.
FACT: In the UK, if you die, by law, you have to be either cremated, or buried. But, there is no major increase in cremations or deaths across the UK as reported by people who have done a freedom of information request to their local district council, who have the figures.
Yes, I know you will come back at me with tales of people you know who have died, and of course, that's sad, but how do you explain the absolute disappearance of seasonal flu deaths, 20/21, by coincidence it was eradicated. There are no records, of anyone dying from it.
Now tell me it was because of masks and social distancing, but also tell me, in that case, how a mask can tell the difference between one virus and another. It let in the Covid bug but kept out the flu bug.
We've seen not ONE politician die from Covid, not one celebrity, die from Covid, not an actor, writer, dancer, singer, well known face. YES, they may have suffered from it, but strange how nobody actually died.
You saw 60k + people at Wembly, all unmasked, hugging, kissing, shouting, cheering with each other while you were in Sainsbury's, fully masked up keeping to the rules. The rich and famous at Wimbledon, doing much the same, except with the great British reserve.
For goodness sake people, take back the freedom you've all got vaccinated for, take off your masks, stop obeying rules and live your lives as you did before, that's the only way this country will get back on its feet, and that your loved ones can resume their careers, fully open their businesses, and your Grandchildren resume their education uninterrupted as is their right as a child.

(Can't be bothered answering the other points, they are so daft)
A very good sign of authoritarianism is when the incumbent powers make rules for others for which they give themselves free passes to ignore.
Thus, I think we have all had a very good warning of what might happen when even a liberal Conservative government falls foul of this rule. Cummings, Hancock and now the libertarian himself, the PM, all thought they could tell us to do one thing but do the other themselves. All for our own good, of course, they being so Important and having such great tasks to tackle.
However, each case was revealed to the public and put right swiftly. I doubt the truth would ever emerge in, say, China, Iran or Russia, for example. And given that Labour is far more in favour of semi permanent Lockdown even with the more moderate Sir Keir, we can be sure that Corbyn would have had a tight lid placed over his own party’s infringements.
The anti-bac of truth and openness protects us all. We must fight to preserve truth and we must resist authoritarianism in all its forms - especially when it is for our own good!
He's only isolating because there was a public outcry. With workers having to stay at home and factories, shops and other businesses being forced to close because of staff having to isolate, it was pretty certain that Sunak's and Johnson's initial decision would cause an outpouring of criticism.
No, he hasn't GOT Covid - he tested positive. Not the same thing ?
He didn't test positive....
Jeezy peeps, no wonder we're in such a mess....is it really so hard to come to grips with?

No, he hasn't GOT Covid - he tested positive. Not the same thing ?
No he didn't.
Although I have been out - did I miss something?
So far we've had:
Johnson has Covid, Johnson doesn't have Covid. He can't have it because he's had it before, he can't have it because he's double jabbed, he can't have it because it doesn't exist.
He isn't self isolating, he is self isolating, he wasn't going to self isolate but he is now; he's on a pilot scheme, he's not on a pilot scheme, there is no pilot scheme.
What's next? He's isolating with Rishi and they've sent out for takeaway pizza
