I’ve had a miserable few days with this virus despite having two vaccinations, the second in May. Just wanted to say be careful out there everyone.

I read this morning that the effectiveness of the jabs decline as time goes by. I had my first one in January, as did many of us, so we need to be more careful now until we get our booster in the autumn.

Been there done that bought the T shirt and we still caught it! Really at a loss as, you name it, we’ve done it!

Well I still wear my mask when I go into shops, the amount if people who dont though it a bit scary. It just shows that you still have to be very carefull.

And an average 100 deaths per day. We also have a double jabbed family member who has covid.

Sorry JaxJacky what I meant is that while most social distancing regulations have been lifted, we still see quite a number of positive cases.

Jaxjacky Tue 24-Aug-21 14:43:37

Sorry BlueSky.

Jaxjacky Tue 24-Aug-21 14:43:07

BlueSjy could you please link the Covid alert level 0, I can only find level 3.

BlueSky Tue 24-Aug-21 14:15:54

So many positive after two jabs and they tell us we are at level zero alert!

Just found out this morning my brother has covid too,and is very poorly even though he has had his 2 vaccines.
I hope you are improving Tea3.

Same here, double jabbed, always careful with hands distance and mask, do not mix and we caught it! Just quick occasional shop, so this variant must be very infectious. Feels like a cold/cough at the moment, dry cough that hurts the ribs, feeling under the weather, and DH lost his sense of smell and taste which is very unusual for him. Let’s hope we get better now rather than worse.

My 45 year old son, double jabbed, has just tested negative after having Covid. He had a high temperature for well over a week and little sleep, and says it is the worst he has ever felt. He is still feeling shabby and it sounds like it will be a slow process to full recovery. He had been careful about hygiene and mask wearing and went out very little so it seems to show how transmissible this current variant is. I (75) am still going out but trying to be even more careful, but worrying when so many people are behaving as if everything is back to normal. Get well soon to all those suffering from Covid.

Welbeck....a very useful article thank you.

Tea3

Thank you everyone. All good wishes to those still suffering. I feel a bit brighter at last but I find the total loss of sense of taste and smell most peculiar. I would love ‘a nice cup of tea’ but it may as well be hot puddle water for all I can taste of it.

hope you feel better soon.
this is an article from site which i find useful. gives hope.

My brother and SIL have it at the moment. So far they just have sore throats and feel very wiped out. They were double jabbed.

Hope you feel well soon OP.

Both of my friends are double vaccinated and caught covid again. They said they feel worse than they did when they got it first time round (when they was unvaccinated). Maybe it is a different variant which the vaccine no longer protects you against? I hope you are feeling better soon. X x

I know a couple of people who've been double jabbed but tested positive. So it must be quite common. Everybody needs to keep washing their hands regularly. We're all going to get it at some point. Hopefully will just resemble a cold and shaken off in a couple of weeks.

Motherofmany Mon 16-Aug-21 20:57:20

Another one here, son with Down Syndrome double vaccinated caught it and very kindly shared it with the whole family. Must admit none of us were too poorly, youngest 16 with an immune problem required antibiotics but we survived thankyou vaccinations.

kjmpde Mon 16-Aug-21 18:33:25

the vaccine does not stop you catching covid but hopefully the symptoms will be less severe. hope you feel better

Namsnanny Mon 16-Aug-21 18:29:42

Yours too AGAA4? Hope she's on the mend now.
Its surprising that all 3 caught it after their 1st injection.

Namsnanny Mon 16-Aug-21 18:26:24

I'm glad your daughter is feeling better now jaxjackyThe no sense of taste and smell sounds difficult though.

Tea3 Mon 16-Aug-21 18:13:21

Thank you all for your good wishes.

AGAA4 Mon 16-Aug-21 17:13:29

My daughter was quite ill with covid. She caught it about a week after her first dose. I hope you feel better soon Tea3.
