Praise for my surgery

Good result, Auntieflo! Hope your treatment goes well.

I spoke to my GP at 9.20 this morning. And asked for a prescription for the blood thinners the AF clinic has put me on. My GP practice is on one corner the opposite corner has an independent pharmacy which I signed up with when I joined the practice. They deliver to anyone. My tablets arrived at 11.20.

Brilliant service as usual from both surgery and pharmacy. I live on the north west .

I reckon I've been very lucky with my surgery and follow on hospital treatment. I phoned the surgery on the 1st September with three problems. The receptionist was very helpful, doctor rang me two hours later,nurse practitioner rang that afternoon and saw me the following morning .Referred me to Hot clinic and phoned me Saturday morning, appointment Tuesday, then referred to general surgery , appointment two weeks later ,MRI scan this Sunday .All that in the space of 26 days.Lucky or possibly unlucky ,no point worrying, it won't help.Luckily the hospital is five minutes walk away so no problems parking.I certainly can't complain with my surgery or NHS follow up.

Our surgery seems to have gone into freefall the last couple of weeks and it's been impossible to get through on the phone. However I tried again yesterday and was able to get my test results (normal!!) and get booked in for a flue jab tomorrow. They also assured me I will be texted as soon as I am due for the Covid booster.

My practice is great - it just takes 40 minutes to get there!

If I lived on the other side of the lane I would have been allocated a different practice that I can get to in 20 minutes! I did have this conversation with the powers-that-be but it got me nowhere.

I thought you could choose your GP nowadays, provided they have spaces?

Our surgery is amazing. I have never been unable to get an appointment the same day and some of those have been face to face.

My surgery is still inaccessible and they are refusing virtually all face-to face appointments. No information has been given about flu jabs, normally available at this time.

Same here, eazybee - I phoned for an appointment last Tuesday and was offered a telephone appt next Wed

My surgery has been somewhat unhelpful throughout Covid, but I must praise them for this morning's flu jab arrangements.
There was a highly efficient production line organising the queue and I was in and out within 3 minutes.

My surgery have just returned to pre Covid methods of booking appointments which is great news - they still use telephone consults but for some things, I prefer them.

My praise is for both my doctor and optician. At a routine eye test, my optician noticed a significant change in the vision in one eye and thought I might have had a TIA. She made an immediate referral to the hospital for the Stroke clinic and to Opthalmology, my gp received a copy. I got an appointment re the TIA in less than two weeks and to the eye hospital within three weeks. My gp must have also made a referral to the eye hospital as I’ve had another appointment in the post today which I will now cancel.

So I’m now on blood thinners and having my blood pressure meds checked - all within three weeks!
