Amlodipine possibly helps to slow or prevent dementia.

Yes and it has had a brilliant "side effect" for me. I had migraines from the age of 18 and since starting Amlodipine ten years ago have never had another ! They were totally unrelated to raised blood pressure as never had high blood pressure in youth or middle age. Unfortunately they can't be prescribed for migraine because of the blood pressure lowering effect in people who don't need it lowered.

My cat! He was recently diagnosed with high BP and is now on this. He’s got no brains, though, so I doubt we’ll see a difference in him. grin

Thank you, shysal, for the link. Both my husband and myself take this, also with no side effects.
It us interesting to know that it might have other benefits.

Interesting article popped upon my home screen this morning.
I take 5mg daily with no side effects, so I am pleased that there might be another benefit. Anyone else take it?
