Hello, I wonder if any one is suffering with this ailment. I am eighty. Have been treated at a variety of hospitals over a period of ten years. First surgery carried out in 2003. Am between a rock and a hard place. Can have a colostomy at a private BMI hospital for £25,000, or wait indefinitely on the NHS waiting list with no date for the foreseeable. Every day is a challenge. I appreciate that there are countless people far worse off than I am. I would however be most grateful of any first hand information that can help me to manage this dire situation. Thank you.

Destination Ross Hall in sight for Soop. Help to get her there?!

soop Tue 14-Dec-21 12:47:54

From Mr Soop...to "his ladies".

Soop and I have been planning a party for all our kind and generous friends, who have continued to boost not only our "cause", but also our spirits. Thank You All . Sadly it can only be virtual, but you Gransnetters certainly know how to make the best of that situation, and it may even allow us to really let ourselves go. Woops.....[ I might even perform the Dance of the Seven String Vests, if Soop can find her knitting needles.] So, give it some thought and see what culinary delights you can conjure up, what party games you might like to play, and what amazing party outfits you can find in the back of the wardrobe. Take care all of you, Mr Soop. x

Any party that features sausage rolls is fine by me. I'll be wearing my glitter burka so I can smuggle as many of said items as possible. Will there be party bags?

Jaxjacky Tue 14-Dec-21 14:35:07

Thank you Mrsoop definitely charades, I can bring onion bhajis, chicken satay and spicy potato cakes with assorted dips. I’ll wear my wedding dress, give it a second airing, dark blue, three quarter length velvet, probably with a contrasting bib, I can be a messy eater.
PS also doing the lottery tonight ?

Soop is aware I am on call whenever she may need me. ?

Who could resist such a temptation Mr Soop. Lots of nibbles and free flowing alcohol/soft drinks. It may take one or two wines before I do my speciality table top dancing though. ?

Looking forward to your string vest dance, MrSoop grin. Really glad to see the fund is swelling nicely.

Surprised to see a photo of my husband on here. What on earth has he been up to? ?

Kalu. your deputy will also be on duty, if required! Thank goodness we live close to Ross Hall!

soop Tue 14-Dec-21 16:27:57

grin I shall show Mr Soop your cheeky suggestions. He'll be tickled pink.

Oh, is that your hubby, Marydoll? - and he told me he wasn’t married! Men, eh!

215 donations so far have helped you get there soop.

These will help you too. ?

Rab in his string vest is a looker !

Marydoll Tue 14-Dec-21 17:13:12

Hands off! Surely everyone knows he is my man?

Praying that we have some more donations

He’s mine, all mine grin

Aveline Tue 14-Dec-21 17:24:11

Will MrSoop be wearing a 'Health Vest' though?

Aldom Tue 14-Dec-21 17:27:04

I'll bring some smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches and a bottle of Prosecco. After a couple of glasses of fizz I'll do the can can (I wish). I'm off to raid the wardrobe for my red and black, laced bodice, matching skirt with lots of net underskirts. Anyone got a spare pair of fish net stockings I can borrow. grin

soop Tue 14-Dec-21 17:30:16

When he's recovered from the dizzying responses, Mr Soop will respond to you lot tomorrow. wink

Charleygirl5 Tue 14-Dec-21 19:04:58

Aldom I rather fancy your tasty sandwiches- I do not like anything fizzy except diet coke and Irn bru so I will bring a very dry white.

I will also come in my night attire as I doubt if I will be fit to go anywhere afterwards so I can find a comfortable bed and collapse there. If Sweetie Pie would like to join me that is fine. If any feline or canine friends come, I am happy to give extra cuddles.

Blossoming Tue 14-Dec-21 21:21:20

I could ask Mr. B. To bring his didgeridoo to the party. Though on second thoughts it ought to be called a didgeridont. I’m not sure if the residents of Gairloch have recovered from the impromptu didgeridoo recital following the cider tasting, it was only 5 years ago grin

Nannytopsy Tue 14-Dec-21 21:31:31

Can I come? I have several bottles of sloe gin and rhubarb gin I made earlier in the year ?‍?

TillyTrotter Tue 14-Dec-21 21:32:57

My singing has been known to make dogs howl but I will be happy to sing “Donald where’s yoor trousers?” if Mr Blossoming would give me a few notes on his didgeridoo to keep me in tune.
All in the name of entertainment at our party and I can assure MrS many more donations are likely to flood into soop ‘s fund in appreciation. ? ? ? ?

Aveline Tue 14-Dec-21 21:46:05

Will people be sponsoring you to stop Tilly?
Looking at the 'Full Monty' programme on just now maybe that's something we could think about? Obviously only stripping down to our vests though.

Blossoming Tue 14-Dec-21 21:53:05

That’s a good idea Aveline, people will definitely pay me to stop singing ?

Blossoming Tue 14-Dec-21 21:57:22

Of course you can NannyTopsy I love sloe gin!
