Hello, I wonder if any one is suffering with this ailment. I am eighty. Have been treated at a variety of hospitals over a period of ten years. First surgery carried out in 2003. Am between a rock and a hard place. Can have a colostomy at a private BMI hospital for £25,000, or wait indefinitely on the NHS waiting list with no date for the foreseeable. Every day is a challenge. I appreciate that there are countless people far worse off than I am. I would however be most grateful of any first hand information that can help me to manage this dire situation. Thank you.

Haha yes Aveline I’m sure that will be the case!

soop ‘s fund total is £12,725 now. Amazing!
It is creeping up. ?

Kalu Tue 14-Dec-21 23:10:50

Of course we two ladies in waiting will be on call together, fully alert to see to Her Majesty’s every desire Marydoll.
(Sssh) Mr Soop knows nothing of the two beefcakes she demands to turn down her bed in the evening, nor the wee dram in her nightly hot chocolate.

£12,725 really is amazing Tillytrotter ?

My problem with the word 'bumping' is that it is more subtle to post a response with more content than just 'bumping'. This keeps the thread going in a more positive way.

Subtle Aveline ? tchconfused
“Bump” is clear enough.

Effective.

I think "bumping" is used by airlines to indicate that a passenger has been pushed ahead in the queue , or put up into a higher class . It's always a good thing !

Aveline Wed 15-Dec-21 07:01:52

Bumps can take many forms just look at the turn this thread took and the increase in donations. Besides, one can be bumped off a flight and that's the last thing we want for Soop.
Now, back to the fun.

Hmm ? just thinking - a dangerous thing my OH would say

Friends of the Christmas fund (being careful with my words here) could make calendars involving cherry buns, ?
barter them,
and top up said fund.
Remember the film Calendar Girls ? ??
I will be the one who sits at the organ please?

Jaxjacky Wed 15-Dec-21 07:42:26

I’d be careful with the word ‘organ* Tilly!,

Aveline Wed 15-Dec-21 08:27:02

grin

Marydoll Wed 15-Dec-21 09:34:44

I have just had a look at the total, as I always do first thing and it's sitting at £12,950, which is great news.

Tilly, you are awful!!

Blossoming Wed 15-Dec-21 10:49:13

Ooh Tilly whatever do you mean? grin

The Happy Christmas has now topped £13,000 from 236 well wishers. Isn’t it lovely to see that there are so many caring people out there?

Blossoming Wed 15-Dec-21 10:54:41

For TillyTrotter

Who could forget the Monty Python organist? ?

(I didn’t use the full photo, not sure GNHQ would approve of bare bottoms before the watershed)

Aveline Wed 15-Dec-21 10:57:08

'Every one a Maserati'!
Loved Monty Python.

Doodle Wed 15-Dec-21 11:35:09

Great news about the fund going well.

muse Wed 15-Dec-21 12:03:36

A bare bottom on GN !
Go on Doodle.

TillyTrotter Wed 15-Dec-21 12:20:27

HahaHa Ladies you are on the same (batty) wavelength as me! ?

Aveline Wed 15-Dec-21 13:02:41

I've already donated but will pledge to give any Christmas money I might receive to Soop's fund.
I'm just wondering what unusual name I might give myself on the Just giving page.

soop Wed 15-Dec-21 13:34:29

you lot are in for a treat. Mr Soop will be messaging you in person, in the flesh (so to speak). He's washing the dishes right now. Be patient. wink

Doodle Wed 15-Dec-21 14:10:38

muse the screens not big enough. ?

soop Wed 15-Dec-21 14:11:31

Mr Soop reporting...I'm thrilled to see that my suggestions for partying have been received with such enthusiasm and gusto. I too am fired-up and raring to go. First thing to do is to shake the moths out of my mini sporran and make sure it hasn't too many holes in it. [I wouldn't want to offend anyone, particularly GNHQ]. And then I must give my fingers a work out so that I can tickle the ivories to encourage you Grans to trip the light fantastic, or give a demonstration of table dancing [clad in fishnets, naturally]. WOW!
Well, at that point I think I need to lie down and recover from the exciting prospect. So, I shall return shortly to see how the preparations are progressing, meanwhile have fun. Mr Soop wink

Doodle Wed 15-Dec-21 14:12:36

Soop we so want you to have this op. You deserve it so much after all you have been through.
Up the fund! ?

Doodle Wed 15-Dec-21 14:14:24

Pssst, soop does Mr Soop know about your table dancing in the Argy?

Aveline Wed 15-Dec-21 14:24:05

Oh dear. You don't want moths in your sporran! Give it a good shake (not necessarily while wearing it!)

brook2704 Wed 15-Dec-21 15:02:20

Ooooh mrSoop I’m looking forward to the party and have my fishnets at the ready!

soop Wed 15-Dec-21 16:45:00

Mr Soop is looking forward to his rendezvous with "his ladies" tomorrow. wink TOYA.
