Hello, I wonder if any one is suffering with this ailment. I am eighty. Have been treated at a variety of hospitals over a period of ten years. First surgery carried out in 2003. Am between a rock and a hard place. Can have a colostomy at a private BMI hospital for £25,000, or wait indefinitely on the NHS waiting list with no date for the foreseeable. Every day is a challenge. I appreciate that there are countless people far worse off than I am. I would however be most grateful of any first hand information that can help me to manage this dire situation. Thank you.

That's a step in the right direction! TillyTrotter

Best foot forwards ladies! grin

Marydoll Thu 16-Dec-21 12:30:21

Doodle

Who needs fishnets when you have sexy bootees like these ?
Ho Ho Ho

I wore a pair of those to a staff night out and had an allergic reaction to them. I whipped them off half way through the night, the itch was unbearable.
However, they did only cost £1 in Poundland!

That is fabulous news. So near yet so far.

I do not buy lottery tickets so I am not expecting a big win until early next month when my premium bonds come up trumps. As I have said before, it is a minor admin error the money had not winged its way in my direction.

Just had a passing thought…….can you twerk a sporran?? grin

soop Thu 16-Dec-21 13:45:03

Mr Soop's update...
Soop has very kindly offered to darn the holes in the mini sporran and give it a trim along the edge with her pinking shears. OUCH! Best to take it off first, thank you.
As for the fishnets, I have not had so much excitement in YEARS. wink

TillyTrotter Thu 16-Dec-21 15:32:43

I will buy a Christmas Eve lottery ticket of two,
and any winnings will go to soop to partially help or fulfill her target. ?
Like you Charleygirl I am always urging the Christmas Fund onward …… ? ?

Aveline Thu 16-Dec-21 16:15:45

Good idea Tilly. I haven't done the lottery for ages - am bound to win something!!hmm

soop Thu 16-Dec-21 16:32:37

You lot are lovely peoples. Kind and generous of spirit. I am looking forward to the delivery of the letter that will come from the surgeon. Patience must continue to be exercised. I do my best. smile

Marydoll Thu 16-Dec-21 16:33:44

I am marvelling at the speed of all of this, who would have believed it?

TillyTrotter Thu 16-Dec-21 17:01:08

It’s a Christmas Day Lottery UK, not Christmas Eve.
Multiple millions to be won. Just imagine …….

Aldom Fri 17-Dec-21 07:36:22

Morning all. I've just checked Soop's GFM page and it is now £13,465. Amazing. Not far to go. Good luck Soop. shamrock

Jaxjacky Fri 17-Dec-21 08:14:08

Amazing Aldom nearly…..

Aveline Fri 17-Dec-21 08:53:57

Just a last push to go. Wonder what I can persuade my family to sponsor me for? Probably only a sponsored TV switch off. That would really hurt! Worth it though.

brook2704 Fri 17-Dec-21 10:48:55

That’s brilliant news - thanks for the update Aldom

Aveline Fri 17-Dec-21 12:49:59

18 hours since the last donation. How can we get the amount over the line? MrSoop is it time now to involve local media?

TillyTrotter Fri 17-Dec-21 14:40:42

I should be going to a pre-Christmas meal and drinks this evening but myself and the group of friends I was going with have decided to cancel and re-book in January (restrictions allowing).
I will give the £25 I would have spent this evening to soop ‘s
Christmas fund with pleasure ?.

soop Fri 17-Dec-21 15:05:56

TillyTrotter Why are my eyes misting over? I have no idea. flowers

Marydoll My thoughts exactly. How has this been possible in so short a time. The kindness of strangers...that is the answer. flowers

The Christmas fund is still filled with good cheer. Our grandson, Will, has helped enormously. He is now auctioning some wonderful Nike clothing in order to keep the ball rolling, so to speak.

Mr Soop is away having his eyes tested. He has a cataract and is hoping that it hasn't deteriorated too much since his last appointment.

At lunchtime we received sad news that a friend has been diagnosed with cancer for the second time. She has to find a way of explaining to her husband (who has had a stroke and is showing signs of dementia). Life can be so cruel.

Aveline Fri 17-Dec-21 15:29:30

Tilly good idea.

Charleygirl5 Fri 17-Dec-21 16:53:30

As Craig would say FAB U LOUS.There is now £15550 in the fund.

Would you like us lot soop to do a nagging act on behalf of Mr. Soop so he can have early surgery for his cataracts and that would enable him to at least drive you to various appointments and the mega day.

Marydoll Fri 17-Dec-21 16:57:46

Are you sure Charleygirl, it would be wonderful if it was?

I have just been in to the site and the fund is standing at £13,550. I hope I am mistaken.

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 17-Dec-21 17:01:53

It is £13,550 Marydoll. Sadly not £15,550. I think Charley must be on the sauce!?

Marydoll Fri 17-Dec-21 17:02:41

It is still a huge amount!

Blossoming Fri 17-Dec-21 17:03:33

No you’re correct Marydoll it’s £13,550.

Think that was just a typo.

soop Fri 17-Dec-21 17:58:28

Dearest you lovely lot...*Mr Soop* will have cataracts removed in 15 months time! He is still perfectly okay to continue driving. Thank goodness.

Sweetie Pie enjoying a fish dish. grin

Charleygirl5 Sat 18-Dec-21 09:53:27

My apologies, my eyesight is deteriorating but not that rapidly. That was a typo and I did not check what I had typed. I hold my head in shame.

That is really good news-15 months is not too long.
