I am now 87 with heart disease and living with one kidney, all under control. Recently I have had 2 falls both outside in the garden. I took the dogs outside on Christmas Day into the garden and tripped on a flagstone. Luckily, my son and our guests heard me shout and came to my aid. This morning I was outside on the back patio …just concrete and I fell again. Why I don’t know. Luckily the man who was maintaining our mosquito traps ( we are in the Caribbean ) heard my shout for help and lifted me up. This time I have a lump on the back of my head but just feel rather shaken. I have never had falls before but just before I came out here, I had cataracts removed and new mono lenses put in at the same time and wondered if the change in my vision has anything to do with it.
Has any other gran or elderly person had falls and what do you think caused them. The man who came to my aid phoned my son to tell him what happened which was good of him, but now my son worries about leaving me alone with the dogs in case I fall again, but he is busy at work about half an hour away from home and I am very independent and hate worrying him. I would be 8nterested in hearing other grans experience of falls.
