Prescriptions in large plastic bag

Our pharmacy doesn’t dispense all prescriptions, some come from elsewhere and are packaged by robots.

The bags, which look like plastic, are actually made of potato starch and can be composted.

Our’s are always in paper bags.

Mine are usually in paper bags if only a few items but they use a plastic bag when I need a lot of things at the same time as it is bigger.

Our pharmacy puts all our prescriptions (10) in a plastic carrier bag. We save it and take it back next time.

Ours are in paper bags and we collect from outside the pharmcy from a dispensing machine any time day or night. Its very conveniant.

Ours come in brown paper bags. We've never had any dispensed I plastic bags, as far as I can recall.

Mine have always been in paper bags, brown ones now and are posted through the letter box-----which I leave there for a good hour before handling. I've no dogs so no fear of anything chewed.

My prescription, which I collect are always handed over in a paper bag. However my very elderly neighbours have theirs delivered, from the same pharmacy, in a plastic bag with a seal at the top. She saves all these plastic bags for me and very useful they are too!

Mine come in paper bags, DH’s come in a biodegradable plastic carrier. Same pharmacy so no idea why.

My previous pharmacy switched to a system whereby prescriptions were made up at a central distribution centre, placed in sealed plastic bags and dropped off at the local pharmacy for collection, They made a lot of errors and refused to correct them, so I switched to another dispensing pharmacy. Now I get them in paper bags again, no more mistakes.

Should have explained better...they are in a large sealed bag not a carrier bag and just wondered why this is now the norm instead of the usual white paper bags..suppose i should ask next time..

Each individual item we have is in a stapled up paper bag then as there are so many they hand them all over in a plastic carrier bag.

I am pleased that the new people who have taken over at our local chemist packs all prescriptions in paper bags.

White paper bags for us

I took some parcels to a Yodel delivery shop yesterday, one was in a reused Amazon cardboard sleeve, the rest were in plastic delivery envelopes. The shop refused to take the one in cardboard saying that they will only take in plastic incase the parcels get wet.

Maybe other delivery companies are saying the same and your medication was delivered to the pharmacy in the plastic bag.

Had massive amount of medication when my cataract operation went wrong in what looks like a plastic bag. Still taking the medication and it’s doing the trick. Tried to take some back on my last check up as instructed by the pharmacist but a different pharmacist refused. Guess it’s not hygienic.

Our pharmacy uses brown paper bags. They go in the recycling.
