Prescriptions in large plastic bag

Picked up one repeat prescription - dose altered and was given this in a large plastic bag - noticed last month, my repeat prescriptions were also in a plastic bag and just didn't really think much of this..but now, why are the pharmacies using plastic bags? Is it for hygiene or ??
