I have recently been suffering from this condition, and I have to say the pain has been unbearable. Initially, my doctor suspected arthritis, so I had to wait for an appointment for an x-ray. This took approx 3 weeks to come through, but luckily the result were sent to my doctor the next day. No arthritis showing up on x-ray, so was referred to surgery's physio specialist. He did a little examination on my movement etc, and then told me that I was suffering from Femoral Acetabular Impingement. Supposedly usually seen in women over 60, who are quite active. But he couldn't tell me if it would recur, or if the excercises he has recommended would keep it a bay for good. I have had to stay off work for over a month, as I was quite imobile, and the pain was enough to make me cry.
So, does anyone else have any knowledge of this condition, and what are your experiences of its length of time and does it eventually heal itself? Many thanks, Gransnetters, in advance
