It arrived today so I had to re-locate the soup maker into the back of a different cupboard to make room for the juicer on the appliance shelf in the other cupboard ? I believe it is most beneficial to drink the juice on an empty stomach so I’ll have it first thing in the morning. I have got granny Smith apples, celery, root ginger, organic carrots, broccoli.I don’t think it’s gonna taste particularly nice as I’m also going to add a quarter of a lemon as I think that helps with the oxidation.. But as I am drinking it and probably gagging I will be thinking “think of the health benefits” ?

I have one which I would love to use more often but it is such a hassle to clean. I didn't buy it, mind, it was among the possessions of an uncle of DH who died ages ago. I used to make carrot juice with it, and drop in left over fruit such as grapes, peaches, plums (stoned, of course). It would be a good way to use up leftover fruit and veg if I could persuade myself to get it out and kick it into action. No way would I get a smoothie maker. Tried a smoothie once and it gave me the runs.

My favourite homemade juices are; celery, apple and spinach or kale. Orange, carrot, apple with ginger is a lovely zingy wake up juice.
Beetroot works well with carrot and apple, ginger is a great way to spice up your juices, just keep away from more tropical sweeter fruits..

I would rather not think of the gadgets I have lurking in my kitchen cupboards all of which seemed indispensable when I bought them - the juicer attachment for my Magimix, the ice cream maker, the mixer attachment for my Kenwood Chef, the soup maker, the bread maker, the stick blender, the Kenwood hand mixer (bought when the old Kenwood died) the mini-chopper, the Kenwood and the Magimix themselves, of course. The sandwich maker long gone but I have been tempted to replace it more than once, and I am holding out against an air fryer!
Just say No!

I used to have a green star twin juicer. from around the 1980s. A slow masticating juicer. We moved and it was just too big so I got an omega slow vertical juicer, which I use to this day. It is very easy to clean

My go-to for a quick beneficial juice is celery, carrot with a chunk of raw beetroot and half a lemon. I never juice fruit, not even apples. I dislike green juices. I eat my greens cooked. Having said that, cabbage juice is ok and is certainly good for treating acid effects on the oesophagus and I might put some chopped kale in with my basic juice

Had one about 15 years ago and it was eventually consigned to the loft and I really don’t fancy going up there ferreting about for it so I have treated myself to a new one. I’m going to make green juices and start my morning off with them. I also have a NUTRiBULLET which I make fruit smoothies in and I know they can contain quite a bit of sugar but I am trying to stop the sugar I am eating at the moment (cakes, bran flakes WITH half a Pot of Elmlea double!!) Just waiting for results of blood tests and I am not optimistic. Any experience and favourite recipes fromanyone would be gratefully received. Thank you in anticipation. Oh I also have a soup maker which is consigned to the back of the cupboard, hasn’t quite made it to the loft yet,I might have to dust that off as well ?
