I had awful periods from the first one starting at 11. I was never regular and never had more than 21 days between. Doctors said things would improve after having children, they didn’t, they were much worse. I hated going out when I was having a period despite wearing two and sometimes three pads. I dreaded long meetings at work, sitting and being aware of my ‘body working’. I eventually had a hysterectomy at 51, what a relief, no more anemia, spoilt clothes and the expense of protection.
Unfortunately DD has the same problems and is waiting for a hysterectomy at the age of 43, she was due to have the operation but unfortunately lockdown happened.
