I went to my Dr with this problem. He did an ECG and told me to go to the hospital then
Monitored for 24 hrs then an MRI scan.
When I saw him again for the results I asked him why he acted so quickly.
He said when I asked you if you were spinning or was the room spinning, you answered you were spinning which led me to believe that something was very wrong
All was well.

Glad to hear that you are fine.
I ended up in Heart Block.. So now I have a Pacemaker.
That's why I said check it out.. Not Vertigo after all.

I agree with Elegran, I got my first bout of vertigo after a heavy nights drinking, I noticed that my subsequent attacks happened after Id been drinking and linked the dehydration from alcohol with it, now if I do drink I had lots of water before I go to bed and touch wood it works

You have my sympathy. It’s such a horrible feeling isn’t it?
If it continues, you could look up the Cawthorne-Cooksey exercises which really do work but it takes weeks.
There’s every chance though that your bout will be short lived.

I’ve been hospitalised with labyrinthitis in the past, it’s horrible. Beware of the Epley manoeuvre without a diagnosis, though, as it can make matters worse if the dizziness is being caused by something else.

Get well soon!

Best to check with your GP, it could be something like low blood pressure. Hope you’re soon feeling better. Bea65.

Bea It sounds like it could be labrynthitis to me.
I’ve had it, but I’m not sure if I can spell it…

Get this checked.
I thought I had this turned out to be something else.

You may be dehydrated in the mornings. It could help to keep a bottle of water beside the bed, and drink some before even putting a foot to the floor. Through the day, too, drink plenty.

It is called the Epley manoeuvre, you will find videos on how to do it on YouTube. It is nausea inducing but can work. When I have vertigo I take Stugeron 15 travel sickness tablets available over the counter which help with the nausea and stay in bed until it passes.

Could be a virus? I had it earlier this year and worried but I then learned that lots of others had it and it did go away after a week or so. Good luck anyway. It's a horrible feeling

It is called the Epley manoeuvre. You will find info on line.

I suffer from vertigo and spend my life trying to avoid the onset. Never tried the exercises, dread the nausea which it would cause.
