You need to see a doctor. However can you try putting Vicks Vapor rub on the soles of your feet to help ease the coughing? I had a terrible cough a few years ago that lasted for weeks and the Vicks did help. My doctor refused to give me antibiotics but when I did eventually get some it cleared up straight away. I went to a walk in centre at one point because I’d been coughing all night ( it was even causing stress incontinence) . I was also coughing up blood But because (TMI alert!) my sputum wasn’t green they refused to give me antibiotics.

It does sound awful Beau
Do you have anyone who can speak for you and call your GP in the morning if you aren’t any better?

Yes it’s like the flu but without the aches and pains. Maybe at 64 a virus like this takes its toll. It feels definitely like a chest infection I was hoping someone with the same could tell me.

I can hear my neighbour who’s had an awful cough for over a week now still coughing. He’s tested for covid and it isn’t he was so frustrated with his GP surgery he drove himself there on Fri day and insisted on being seen they weren’t happy but he was given antibiotics and and an inhaler.
He can’t go to work and said he’s never been laid low like this before.

It definitely sounds like covid. I'm sure I had it earlier this year despite testing negative. Lots of fluids and resting. I hope you get better soon

My family has had it. It's laid them low in bed.

Sounds very like Covid . I wonder sometimes if those tests always show it up. In fact I know sometimes they don’t because a friend had several negatives on them and went and had one at one of those centres where she was actually positive. I mean the RAT tests, I am sure the other ones are accurate.

I’ve never had a cough like the one I’ve got at the moment this is my 6th day and I’m still not able to function properly I just want to lay down all day and sleep. The pain has got a lot better now when I cough but I’m still coughing loads. I don’t have a runny nose or sore throat but I’ve been shivering so I expect I’ve had a temperature. Is this a chest infection? Is Bronchitis? Trying to get a doctors appointment is a no no. I’ve taken 2 covid tests it’s negative. I normally get a cough or cold but function fine I’ve never been bedridden before. My head if I’m honest feel wowsy all the time it’s horrible.
