I’m average weight and size , do exercises, gardening, walking
but my tummy fat won’t budge… I don’t eat a lot, have 1 gin
and tonic per evening. How do I get rid of this load of fat below
tummy button? At 75 I feel very fit ,apart from this….

I have always had a big tummy, especially after the birth of my children.
Stick, thin arms and legs. No backside to speak,of all my weight goes to my middle…
If it was evenly distributed I reckon I would have a pretty good figure! (70)

I admit to not doing it for a while , but this is what I do when a nice occasion is coming up and my stomach protrudes past my boobs when I turn to the side and look in mirror !

After a nice soak in the tub - I give my wobbly tummy a good old massage for as long as I can stand it .

I'll use any anti cellulite cream or gel .

Some of my Asian and Middle Eastern friends use oil .
They discovered it after childbirth and recommended it to me .

Then I wrap my tummy in some big crepe bandages from Boots .
I have a selection !

If they loosen during the day and they do - I put them on again .

I'll do this in the morning and at bedtime .

Of course , diet and exercise are important too .

Remember we are beautiful as we are and should really be proud of our wobbly tummies !

Good Luck !

I really can't see that making any difference Esmay

It works for me and for my friends .

I think that massage and heat breaks down the fatty tissue , which accumulates on the abdomen and when combined with diet and exercise - you get a flatter tum .

Try it and see !

It's a meno belly, sadly. I've recently lost a lot of weight, and while I've lost it all over, I don't have the hour glass shape I had when younger. My tummy is still my biggest bit.

I'm pretty sure it isn't possible to spot reduce fat on any specific part of our bodies.

You’re right, it is not possible to spot reduce, I am now 11 stone five but I think if I went down to 9 stone I would still have my big middle !! 🤦‍♀️

Just looking at all the other ladies in our Aquafit class I feel better about myself. So many seem to have about the same overall shape as me. They range in age from 60s -80+. Lots of big tums to be seen.

I'd been having terrible gastric problems for years and then a new young doctor diagnosed BAM (bile acid mal-absorbtion - see google) and gave me medication.
After the initial relief that the urgent loo trips and painful stomach cramps had ceased, I noticed my bloated tummy had settled down into a more acceptable shape and size.
I mentioned this in my last telephone GP appointment and she said it had been wind (intestinal gas /flatulance) even though I hadn't noticed burping or hiccups or anything. She said the lady who did my last ultrasound had reported great difficulty getting a clear picture because my belly was full of gas.
She recommended taking something like 'windeze' on a regular basis to keep it under control. (but not too much).
My tummy is still an 'old lady's tummy' but acceptable now and I swallow a 'windeze' capsule after every main meal.
Its worth a try.

I take pre and pro biotics with Inulin every day my stomach isn't as flat as it was 20 years ago but its a lot better than it was a few months ago .They certainly get rid of any bloating

I've had a fat tummy since I was a baby and I do so wish I didn't. I know you shouldn't worry about what you look like and all that but, that aside, it's so difficult to find clothes that fit and sit well. And today I've had that awful feeling as my knickers have rolled down into my hysterectomy scar yet again.

I think its absolutely normal and fine to care what you look like its not vanity it s self esteem .
Taking care of your body is common sense ,it has to last a very long time ...hopefully.
I've always had self esteem issues and dieted since my early teens ,even when I was a size 6 -8 I thought I was fat .
Now its about being healthy ,extra weight especially around the middle affects my back problem so it makes sense not to carry extra weight .

If my tum was due to flatulence and I was given that medication. I'd go off like one of those whizzing balloons!

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've lost some weight overall but the size of my tummy remains however hard I exercise!
